I apologize for just popping in now and then..... I just have a tendency to withdraw when I am struggling. I know that is not healthy, but it is what it is. Anyway, things are looking up, and since so many of you have been encouraging to me, I wanted to come and share the news. I just got word that I will be getting my old job back, as he hospital continues to recover from hurricane Ike/funding shortfalls/etc. I couldn't be happier! It was the job I have enjoyed the most in my career... I think when I posted about it at SS when I was first hired, I called it "my dream job." Well, I re-start my "dream job" on 12/1, and it is a huge relief since my short term contract job was not going to be renewed. As I am prone to do, when I am under a lot of stress, my housekeeping gets worse.... and since I have never been good at maintaining as it is, that means I have lost more ground. I am still proud to say that I have NOT gotten nearly as bad as I was, but I did let things go too far... in particular, the cat boxes.... When I was at my worst, several years ago (has it been that long? ) I let one entire room become a litter box. When my kitty became ill and I had to let her go, a part of me never stopped wondering if my behavior had caused her health problems... if my neglect had shortened her life. Lately, I had only been changing the litter boxes every week or more. With 8 kitties, that is WAY TOO LONG, though it is certainly better than I once was. Still, I feel like I have been neglecting them, and I feel terrible about it. So, now that I have once again felt the fog lift off of me, I have made a promise to my kitties.... I will aim for changing the litter every 2 days, and will NOT exceed 3 days between changes. They depend on me, and they deserve that much. I love them, and I won't let them down again. In addition, I have set a couple of goals: 1) I will put at least one bag of trash out at every pickup, rather than letting things pile up. 2) Within one year, I plan to have a normal amount of stuff... I know I can declutter faster than that, because I have done it before, but this includes KEEPING IT THAT WAY. I don't need it fast this time. I just need it to "stick." I am sorry I haven't been around much to support you all like you did for me. But I do think about you all often and wish you well.

- Suedy,
I remember about you getting the dream job, then losing it to hurricane layoffs.
Glad you've got the job back now!!!
Hugs and welcome back. Don't be a stranger!
