i also vote to give away. i personally cannot throw away perfectly good things. trying to sell them seems to stall me, so i give away the good stuff and recycle the "garbage" stuff.
we have a system - my DH brings all our give away stuff to his work in a box in the back of the SUV to let his co-wkers have first crack at it (some of them are very tight on money), and whatever they don't take within that work week, gets dropped off at goodwill. he never brings it back into our apartment.
doing it this way makes me feel okay to emotionally let it go (knowing it's going to be used and appreciated) and also helps me to get the clutter out.
