I would say NO - he sounds like he will do what he wants to do and not what you want him to do. I have paid for professional people to come in at a cost $60.00 per hour.

I agree with the other posters. You can hire help at $20 an hour from someone you are not involved with in any way - and you can tell them exactly what you want, i.e. "clean all the windows" or whatever.

My gut reaction is to say a big fat NO. If you are in the process of getting back together, he should be offering to help you out for nothing. Saying he'll help for 20/hour is not an offer, it's a sales pitch. It sounds like he needs cash and thinks your an easy target.
