I wanted to clean my area rug that had some mildew on it and it would not spray the water I put in it thru the system and out...I used very hot hot water but still did not spray...so off it goes to Reuseit site for someone else to mess with...once before when it did this I was able to get it to spray by using the hot water and it started to work...not now...I did however pour the hot water over area and vacuum it up with the green machine that part works....and then I sprayed the rug cleaner stuff I bought at grocery store on it and more water and vacuumed again...hopefully it will remove those spots....if not no big deal...

Good luck. Here is a suggestion. Do you have any of the foam carpet cleaner in a can? If you have any of that spray some of that over the spot and rub it in with a brush if you have one then try to suck it up with the part that works.

I sympathize - I had one, but couldn't get it to work either...though the liquid DID shoot out the back and squirt me in the eye . Try the stuff in the red can from the Auto department. I can't remember what it's called, but the can has a brush on the end of it and it's a really bright red...I used it on a throw rug and it worked better than the regular indoor rug cleaner.

My spotbot works very well--haven't had any issues with it. Don't know how old your little green is.

I've found that Woolite upholstery cleaner is FANTASTIC for stains that are non-pet related. It easily removes things like coke and melted chocolate.
They also have a product for pet stains but I haven't tried it yet.

I decided once to detail my car or die. I actually removed the seats so I could clean them. It turned out NO single upholstery cleaner did the entire job. I used three, they were pretty much all the biggest names on the shelf. When I mixed them up, the seats looked new afterward. It was great. It's about time to do that again but now I have to save a bit, maybe shop yard sales to get it cheaper. Plain dish detergent might also help.
