It's my friend from the Kansas City area. She's the one who got me working hard to declutter and organize my home many months ago.
We've tried to plan this visit many times, but either I got sick, she got sick, or her mom or one of her 3 sons got sick, or the car got sick. But now it looks like she can come this Saturday, stay overnight, and leave Sunday afternoon. I think it's now working out because I have a decent bed in my bedroom -- plus my bedroom is looking beautiful!
Our itinerary is pretty simple -- go to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in Mansfield on Saturday. Go to church on Sunday, then go to Bass Pro Shops (if I'm feeling up to it....if not, just stay home and hang out).
So this week Amy and I will get things spic and span for my friend's upcoming visit. NO stash and dash and NO crisis cleaning! This is going to be SO much fun!

This sounds wonderful! You'll have to keep us updated of your progress and how your visit goes. I love the picture of your kitty in your aviator. She's so cute!

UPDATE: My friend will be here sometime Saturday morning -- in just a few hours! I'm so excited, I don't know if I can sleep!
I'm having some more health issues, unfortunately. The antibiotics used to treat my pneumonia have aggravated my ulcerative colitis. I've had some bloodwork done and will give a stool sample on Monday morning to find out if I have a bacterial infection (C-Diff) in my colon.
This means I have to plan to eat when I can have instant access to a bathroom. If I eat, I WILL be going to the bathroom about 5-20 minutes later. That will be hard since we're going out of town to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum Saturday. But I have to do it, for I'm not letting colitis interfere with my plans to have a good time with my friend.
My living room has just one hot spot, but it's behind my recliner. Everything else is OK. And my bedroom is perfect! I put fresh sheets and pillowcases on the bed this morning. I'll sleep in my recliner tonight and tomorrow night. I've done that before anyway and it's quite comfortable.
Even Angel is excited -- she knows something is happening around here. She's really enjoying the clutter free house -- she's got her own little corner by the couch and end table where her cat pillow is located.
I have to clean out Angel's litterbox tomorrow morning early....then clean up and start getting ready. I baked pork chops and they're in the fridge, ready to be nuked in the microwave. I made a gallon of sweet peach tea. I made a salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing and for dessert, I have apples, bananas and leftover chocolate and lemon cake from our ministry's site leader meeting tonight. I also have eggs and bacon, cinnamon toast and coffee for breakfast. It won't be fancy, but it will be tasty!
I think I'm ready....all the same, please say a prayer or send happy thoughts my way.
