My main reason for disliking it is that I have to get up very early and I am a nightowl - then on Wednesday - I have to again get up early and go in with all my documents for them to look at - they then call employer, bank and check up on everything - they have tons of empty apartments - combination of lack of jobs in this county - those who do have good jobs can buy a house - especially if it is a working couple - people tired of being watched and controlled by management - and the apartments are getting very old and run down - they have done a lousy job of snow removal this winter and aren't keeping things up with repairs.

Okay I was gone today - they left me note that I think indicates they want me to get rid of more stuff on my patio - well obviously since it has been winter I havn't done it - so I will when it warms up - I don't understand this place cause I have 6 tiny items on my patio - I can see neighbors patios piled up with stuff and we have fences about 6 feet high around them anyway - so no one can see anything - it is just them being freaking controlling. They also did snoop job in my apartment - which is unacceptable to look in drawers and such and through papers on desk. Then they mentioned the broken towel bar in the bathroom which they haven't fixed even though I told them too and it would take like 5 minutes. They are also watching me like hawks - which is very silly on their parts - cause I am pretty gosh darn boring. Anyway I meet with them tomorrow to provide documents about income and all that stuff - which is just silliness. Half the apartments are empty at this point in time anyway. I have myself to blame - I should have gotten rid of stuff last Spring and been out of here in the fall - too much procrastination on my part. I just despise them telling me what to do - when they don't do what they are supposed to do. My lease is up in June - I must get a contract and get out of here - there is nothing here to stay for.

I hate the controlling crap that is going on there. What is their problem?! I am in the process of getting out of here. Someday. Somehow. Hoping for a landlord who is not a nosy nellie! I will continue to send you uplifting bubbles and contract vibes.

I have the best landlord in the world I guess....he has gone hunting with me and invited me to his farm around christmas to hunt and had me cut down a christmas tree and haul it home for my house.....he never comes by here unless I need him to....and he gets the things I need done quickly...right now though I asked about year ago of getting new carpeting...I have been here 10 yrs now and the carpets were old when I got here....he told me he needed to come inspect the place for other damages before he could get the owner to allow new carpets put in...I had a heck of a mess then and did not invite him over to inspect....so now I still need carpeting and the dog Shredding Machine SHEP has chewed up the hallway carpet...it is not that big and I feel I could afford to replace it myself with a free installation deal from a carpet store...so I am seeing that on TV now this week and I have a bit of money and a student today so I think I am going to go by the carpet store and see their stuff and choose carpet for the hall buy it and have it installed at my own cost...since my dog shredded the one there it should be my cost....and see what they have for the swapping of the living room carpet if the landlord will authorize that...I can actually invite him in today as long as he does not get upset about my doom computer room and my doom basement....hugs hehehe btt

I am at a time in my life when I think I should be in control - having other people in my business is getting a bit old.

success19,
Please lighten up on yourself! Blaming yourself for not cleaning in the past will only make you feel worse about yourself. (Of course it is easy to tell someone else to lighten up, but I do the same thing myself.)
Try not to think about doing things for the management, but as preparation for getting out of there, and on with your new life.

These people sound terrible - can you just break your lease and move now? Depending on where you live, you may be able to do this - the excessive inspections sound like a breach of privacy.

If you're leaving in june, is it possible to just NOT comply? leave your stuff on the patio if you want. get a chain latch so they can't come in-report them to the police for looking in your drawers. don't show all your documents to them- jsut don't communicate at all. if they come looking for you and you are tempted to speak, repeat this one sentence over and over: YOU LOOKED IN MY DRAWERS?

Type of government housing - no other place to move really and what a pain that would be to pay a deposit and move for 3 or 4 months? Pay new deposits on utilities and new checks? Patio has a chain hook - we can't lock it - it's in the rule book - they like lots of rules. If you don't comply they call and talk to employers until you do. So I did it. It is all just more reason to move out of here. I was just venting. People ask me why I am moving overseas - uh - no jobs and live in the boonies and no jobs and the whole state has no jobs - and being under the control of government rules. Just venting.

Photos of the other patios? Just in case they make a big tado over yours? Really irks me the way they just think they can do whatever they want. Grrrr.

I know how you feel. I lived in an apartment once where they stood outside my bedroom window and took a picture to prove we had broken the window blind. Imagine if I had been standing near that window and looked outside when they snapped the photo! I would have called 911 thinking I had a peeping tom. They had to have gotten inches from that window to be able to snap that picture. Too close for my comfort.
