First the good news ,some of you may remember that I saw a clipboard man taking photos of my front garden/yard and sure enough I received a letter advising me to remove rubbish and cut back the overgrown hedge,I tried with my son to do this but I couldn't do all of it even with the help of my son because of the weather and physical limitations.Clipboard man returned and took more photos of my garden and the bags of clippings and rubbish I didn't get to speak to him and I have been worried that he would take further action against me.
Well I got another letter from him, saying he was pleased to see that we appear to be in the process of tidying the garden and hedge and he would be sending contractors to remove graffiti from the garage and he will be inspecting on the 6th of April.
In the same batch of post came another letter from my landlords, now the bad news saying I have been selected for a keeping in touch visit ,they check my identity and would like to be shown around my home so an assessment of the property can be made.they want to see if any major repairs are needed,if there are issues with my tenancy, they stress it is not an assessment of your living standards and privacy will be respected and they want to do this next week,as it happens i already have an appointment so i will have to reschedule it but I really don't want someone looking around my home and judging me ,but I know if I could clean up enough if would be beneficial as there are many repairs that need doing. Its just allowing people in here makes me so anxious I also worry that they will just quote the tenancy agreement at me about keeping the property clean and tidy, seems I spend so much time stressing about stuff like this and as soon as I manage to resolve one problem another will take its place ,always bigger and badder than the last,
fed up BigRae

Dear BigRae,
Looked at correctly, this could be a good thing.
Think about it. You are going to have to clean up anyway, this might be a great shot at establishing some habits to keep it that way.
You could be very close to maintenance by the end of this, which is a sweet place to be, I've heard.
I hope it works out well.

HI BigRae, Coming from a military family and remebering cleaning like crazy 24 hours before the commandant came through - I can understand what you are feeling. It is so much better if you can do a little everyday instead of everything at the last minute. You will feel better and be less stressed. Visit the Chat Room for a Chat Room challenge. I did the other night - in 15 minutes I got more done then I had done all day. Also think about maybe giving things away that stand in the way of your healthy life. You can do it!

its nice that the clipboard man appreciates your efforts and doubly nice that he is going to have the graffitti removed for you! but that landlord thing sounds weird to me. selected for a keeping in touch visit? checking your id? why? who do they think you are? thats just so weird and i even wonder if its legal? since i tend to focus on the negative instead i will wish you well on this visit o f theirs and hope that this will allow you to have some things repaired in your home.

"Keeping in touch" visits. Yuck. I hate how they coat it with a falsely benign name. That would bring out the "still thinking like a wary teenager" in me. I hope that all goes well.
It sounds good how the business with Clipboard Man went. You must be relieved and encouraged.
