We've only got 11 days til taxes are due. Get crackin' or you're gonna be in a melluva hess. At least go get your extension forms now, if you don't think you'll be finished in time.

Hi MiSC,
I still can't find a box of info that I need to finish my taxes and I am spending way too much time digging for it. So I decided last night to print my extension form and it is out to be picked up. The box will easily reappear before October deadline, as I am making great progress sorting through boxes.
I have tried many times to start going through a box a day and couldn't get myself to do it, but thanks to you putting boxes on the 6/7 a day challenge, I am doing it now.

I'm going over to Listzilla to start working on my 7. Are you working on it now?

An extension is easy to do. But if you have to pay, the extension won't save you any money. It will cost you! If you need to pay and don't have it, call them to make arrangements. I know people who are paying as little as $20 a month to start. Hugs to all who need to do this still.

shucks my refunds are in my pocket and gone already...I file as fast as the CPA can get it done....but if you owe on the taxes and you need an extension send in a check with that form so you no longer owe and if done they will give you back any overages and you will not have any late paying penalties to cough up for not having sent in that money by April 15th which is now just 9days away

I had figured my taxes and I didn't have enough income to need to send a check with my extension form. But I still need that dratted box.

I went thgrough my tax papers and couldn't find my husband's pension 1099. They had sent him a letter in January and I thought that was it. Turned out it was a notice about health insurance, not the 1099. So I got him to call the State Capital and have another one sent. They said it'll be here in 2 days.

Just did the federal one - a total breeze - then I started the state one - 6! pages of stuff to fill out for pities sake - and I am just a basic tax form - and of course I can't find one document I need for that! So digging around trying to find the info I need. I wish they put a list of the stuff you need on the front of the form! anyway I have 9 days - I will mail it by Friday. I bet I have to pay extra postage for those 6! pages!

I mailed mine last night and it felt SO good. To everyone who is still putting it off--do step 1 today, which is just finding everything that you need and putting it in one place. It's a good idea to check to see if you have everything--that's why I put mine off til this week. I started about a month ago, found one form I didn't have, and put the whole thing off. It's early enough now to find/get what you still need if you are missing anything.
Go ahead--do it now!!!

We already have our 2 state refunds (2 different states) and are awaiting the federal refund, which could actually already be in the bank. We use the direct deposit option, and I haven't checked today. It's almost like extra money when it appears in the bank account. I used the extra money to pay on our mortgage principal.

Finished - now have to make copies at the library and then mail. I have to put 6 pages - and the paper is thicker than normal into the envelope for the state one! I bet I will need a larger envelope or pay extra postage on it. Not to mention copying those 6 pages! What was my state thinking?
But I don't have to pay anything this year - so that is good.

Uggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh...A tax day reminder If I can clear that dining room table...can't do it on the bed in the bedroom or I'll go to sleep on Saturday. Drats...another day with no play in my life! Usually I sleep on Saturdays after a long week at work but really need to get this in on time...tried it last Saturday in the bedroom...did the stare at it for 1 minute...went to sleep Always get moolah back...if I get this return in it will be the second year in a row it was on time! Great and well done to all those that have completed it! to all the others to meet the deadline!
