Has this link been posted before?
It is a fairly long lecture, but well worth watching.

- Hi Rosebud! I have mentioned it before, inside other threads. But it really deserves its own thread, so I'm glad you posted! Dr. Gail Steketee:Professor and Dean of the School of Social Work at Boston University: www.bu.edu/ssw/about/facultystaff/faculty/profiles/steketee/index.shtmlShe is the co-author of the books: - Compulsive Hoarding and Acquiring: Therapist's Guide (published 2006)
- Compulsive Hoarding and Acquiring: Client Manual (a workbook) (published 2006)
- Buried in Treasures: Help for Compulsive Acquiring, Saving, and Hoarding (published 2007)
- Stuff: Hoarding and the Meaning of Things (published 2010)
Here is where Dr. Steketee posted the video on her website: www.bu.edu/phpbin/buniverse/videos/view/?id=95This is a respectful video, in that she showed the full video to her academic students who wish to help hoarders. I believe that everyone in the audience was a social worker, clinician, or student ... so this would be like a medical school class watching patients on a surgery video. NOTE: she blacked out some of the personal portions to "audio-only" -- blacked out for online viewing -- so the online version goes back and forth from full video to audio-only, in respect for her clients' privacy. That was a OLD classroom video. It is nice that Dr. Steketee was not sensationalizing the hoarder to her students. Her goal was educational. The video is long, perhaps an hour. Worth watching due to its educational value. -

Rosebud, Thanks for posting this, I really enjoyed watching this. I need to go back to finish completely because dinner was ready and I saw there was about 23 more minutes. I enjoyed the informative lecture very much and learned from it. Thanks.

MANIFESTATIONS OF HOARDING:
Acquiring
Saving
Disorganization
"All of us have the same features, we just don't have them to that degree."
That's an interesting thought.
Still watching...
