Eagle -- that is a good way still to think of things -- the minimum wage is $7.25 here -- [much higher in my home state of Vermont so my mom didn't believe me when I told her) -- I need to be thinking of how many labor hours it would take to get the things I am considering. My weakness is books. One of them .

Some things that have helped me (when I use them, and no, I'm definitely not fixed yet in this area)
-Pray before I enter the store (or meditate, whatever helps you in that regard) -Call someone before I go, and then after; let them know in advance what is up and what I'm trying to do -Give a trusted friend my debit card (and/or checkbook) for safekeeping

I had a friend who gave all her credit cards to another friend for safekeeping. The friend's daughter took them and started charging things on the cards. It didn't help their relationship much.
