- Direct link to the Today Show video:today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/36359724It's about 3 and one-half minutes long. This is about hoarder Bill Squibb. Also interviews his partner (significant other) of 25 years Lorelei Azarian. And their daughter Amelia Squibb. With them is hoarding researcher/author Dr. Randy Frost.
Do you remember Bill? Bill was featured on A&E "Hoarders" a while back. He was in the episode titled: " Bill and Patty". - "Bill & Lorelei"
(Bill was the hoarder. Lorelei tripped over Bill's hoarded stuff, fell down stairs, and broke her arm.) -- and --
- "Patty & Dave"
(Patty was the hoarder. Her children were taken by social services)
It seems that this new Today Show clip is a FOLLOW-UP on Bill ... filmed months after his Hoarders episode! Bill says he realizes that he couldn't handle the big clean-out. Bill says that he understands that he can't defeat his 40-year problem in one week. Bill also says he's ready to change -- and is changing -- by using "focused determination". Dr. Frost says he can see improvement. Dr. Frost says that you can see that layers have been removed. Lorelei seems to be standing by her man. Amelia, the daughter, is still frustrated.

I found a plot synopsis of the original episode: The actual original air date was Monday, September 21, 2009 (the synopsis gives the wrong date). The broadcast alternated back and forth between two unrelated households. (Patty of Kansas) (working with Dr. Renae Reinardy) (Bill of Massachusetts, working with Dr. David Tolin) Link to recap:www.tv.com/hoarders/patty-bill/episode/1286782/recap.htmlQuote from recap:This episode is currently viewable on the A&E website, but they don't keep all the episodes up on the site. (They rotate which ones are viewable online). www.aetv.com/hoarders/video/?bcpid=44241147001&bclid=41247314001&bctid=41286193001The broadcast goes back and forth between the two unrelated families. It's in five segments, and that link is to the first segment. It should roll right into the next segment after that. SUMMARY:- The original filming of "Hoarders" did NOT work out for Bill, because Bill was unable to to discard things, and didn't want to pursue futher treatment.
- The Hoarders "epilogue" (words flashed on screen at end of original episode) said that Bill later decided to proceed with treatment, spurred on after Lorelei's heart attack.
- The TODAY SHOW update
today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/36359724 is after six months of therapy working with Dr. Frost, during which he made slow progress, and felt some hope that he could succeed.
