At 10 PM, Sunday, April 11, TLC revisits a home from a previous show. Hopefully, that person can be referred to now as "a former hoarder".

i have been watching these shows along with hoarders on a&e. i have to say that i like the buried alive series much better there is less drama and less stress (imo) to the participants. it will be good to see an update! i have to say that a couple days ago i was catching up on watching buried alive (i have to record just about everything since i go to bed so dang early) and there was this nice lady whose name i cant remember but she had all these mirrors and paintings in her stairway and i thought how beautiful it was. just lovely.

I wish A&E would do an update program on some of their participants. I know that some of the people featured in the first season have made appearances on shows like "Oprah" or "The Today Show," but it would be nice to see how everyone is progressing. Perhaps it would make some of the more grim episodes a bit easier to take if we could see that being on the show had a positive effect on their lives. Of course, I know every story won't have a happy ending, but I hope some of them do.

Hope you can update me - I got most of my channels taken away due to the fact this county has 1 cable company and they moved all the good shows to the highest tier - and you have to buy all the tiers to get to it - mega money.

Schedule for this week: tlc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/series.html?paid=2.15912.56252.39791I wonder if this is an entire episode that updates the old one? Or perhaps it's a new episode about a new family ... with just a short clip showing an update about the former participants? I can't tell what it is from the schedule description. =

I too like the TLC show much better. I benefit a lot from the lower drama. And yet they show us the struggle and at least part of the solution. I have stopped watching the a&e one.

It's on the Today show ... but it's an UPDATE ... many months later .... after working with a therapist and making some progress: Update on Bill: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=9931-

D.I.S.A.P.P.O.I.N.T.M.E.N.T!!! All week they have been advertising this as an up-date!!! I saw the stories when they were first shared. I don't know what, if anything, was different about tonight's show. Auugghhh! I am so disappointed ....and angry. I feel taken advantage of.

CaringFriend, they didn't update the stories until literally the last three minutes of the show. Both women featured in the original episode are doing very well and the woman who is raising both of her grandchildren has not only cleaned and de-cluttered her entire home, she's now painting it to brighten it up! I hated that I had to rewatch the entire original episode in order to find out what happened, but I was glad to see them doing so well.

I thought perhaps the last 2-3 minutes may have been new, but really wasn't sure. What a waste. A great service could have been done by showing parts of the original shows - targeting the sections that showed them explaining why they had saved the items and also show the anguish they experienced. TLC could have focused on the physical changes in the home and the thought patterns of "before" and "after" of those featured. I guess the shock value was more important than having people learning.

Yes, they edited the updates into the end of the original episode so seamlessly, it was difficult to tell where the old footage ended and the updates began. I too wish TLC had concentrated more on the individual steps they took between when the original episode was filmed and the state of their homes right now. It almost felt as if the producers jumped from point A to point Z, with no attention to the letters in between.
