Some of my favorites. Others?
The Earth we abuse and the living things we kill will, in the end, take their revenge; for in exploiting their presence we are diminshing our future. Mary Mannes
The Earth is what we all have in common. Wendell Berry
We have forgotten how to be good guests, how to walk lightly on the Earth as its other creatures do.
The U. S. Government was the first to start a junkyard on the Moon.
Humans merely share the Earth. We can only protect the land, not own it.
We never know the worth of water until the well is dry.
The sun, the moon, the stars would have disappeared long ago...had they happened to be within reach of predatory human hands.
In the U. S. today you can murder land for private profit. You can leave the corpse for all to see, and no one calls the police.
Any fool can destroy trees.
Modern technology...owes ecology...an apology.
We cannot comand Nature except by obeying her.
I am the Earth. You are the Earth. The Earth is dying. You and I are murderers.
A town is saved, not more by the righteous men in it than by the woods and swamps that surround it.
The care of the Earth is our most ancient and most worthy and, after all, our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it and to foster its renewal is our only hope. Wendell Berry
Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out the trees, then names the streets after them. Bill Vaughn
Thank God men cannot fly, and lay waste the sky as well as the earth. H. D. Thoreau
Man must feel the earth to know himself and recognize his values. God made life simple. It is man who complicates it. Charles Lindbergh
And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything. William Shakespeare
Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money. Cree proverb

Okay, I get the water and the fridge, but the front door? I guess it depends on the season. This time of year I leave the doors & windows open as much as possible to get fresh air into the house. That will change soon enough when we need to start using the AC, but for now we have mild enough weather that it is good to have breezes come inside.

Thank you Eagle for reminding me that other regions have milder weather. Our thermostat went from heat to air ,we're in Fla, so when they let all of the ac out the front door ,I hollar! Everyone that can let the fresh air in-do it.

Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify, simplify! I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumb-nail.
Henry Thoreau

I care so much about his that I have joined a political party and am standing for office for the local council. This isn't a place to talk politics so which party does not matter.
