I've been VERY busy lately, which is why I haven't been on SOS for a while. Here's why:
1. I'm packing for Camp Bluebird. It's a camp for adult cancer survivors in all stages of treatment and recovery that I attend twice a year. I'll leave Wednesday morning and come home Friday afternoon. So this past weekend has been spent doing laundry and working around the house. I rearranged things around my living room and it looks a LOT better and LESS cluttered. I moved a table lamp into my living room from my bedroom so I can have more light to read or crochet. I'm really happy things are looking so good in my home because....
2. The day after I return from Camp (Saturday, May 1st), my best-est friend in the entire world is flying in from Houston to celebrate my 50th birthday (Monday)!!!! Although we've kept in touch by phone and letters, we haven't seen each other since my daughter was 6 months old -- almost 22 years! We're going to paint the town -- going to the movies (I won two movie tickets) Saturday night, the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum Sunday afternoon, having lunch with my daughter at Golden Corral on Monday, then going to Bible study that evening so my friend will see what our ministry is all about, then on Tuesday we're going to Branson to the Butterfly Palace, then take the 4 PM cruise on the Branson Belle. She'll fly back to Houston on Wednesday afternoon. I'll appreciate my friend's love and support, because....
3. On Friday (the 7th) at 10 AM I'm scheduled for a colposcopy. Last Friday I had my breast exam and pap smear. The breast exam went well, no lumps or bumps, but the doctor found a suspicious spot on my cervix. So we're doing the colposcopy to find out what's going on. Needless to say, I'm terrified out of my wits. I sure would appreciate your prayers, good vibes, happy thoughts on that day, please.
So I'm feeling excited and fearful of what might now be wrong with me. The health things never seem to end. The doctors get one issue under control when another one pops up, like a forest fire. How much more can a human body stand?
But until the 7th, I'm going to enjoy myself to the fullest!

Sounds like your going to have a wonderful time for your B-day with your Best-est Friend! You will have my prayers on the 7th, & I know all of SOOS will do the same. Jkai3

Enjoy every moment to the fullest!
I'm so glad your daughter will be having lunch with you. One of my prayers for you is healing in the relationship with her.
Have a wonderful time at camp, and come back with lots of great stories to tell.
You are in my prayers.

Ugh--waiting for medical tests is just the worst. I know it will be hard but do your best to just shut that out of your mind over the next two weeks so you can have a wonderful time at camp and with your friend. Incredible to see her after 22 years--I'll bet it will be as though you saw her yesterday!
