Remember that old show - with a guy tossing papers!
Well that is me! but mine are being tossed into the trash can!
What a chore! dust and stuff up my nose and my eyes are not liking it either.
Tore up more books.
Got to figure out how to consolidate photos into one photo album or 2.
No scanner available either - no where - unless I pay major money at a print shop.
Got to get brave and get rid of knick knacks too.
Then there is the furniture to get rid of.

Okay now I found my girl scout stuff and yearbooks - got to look through that - not tossing those however. Found wedding pictures - kept those for dd sake - though people have told me to toss them - I don't think that would be fair to her though - and I wouldn't have her if it wasn't for that marriage. Okay got to see me in my yearbooks - can't remember when I looked at them - .

Hi Success 19, good to see you keep on keeping on! I took all of my wedding photos out of their album and put them in a shallow box (with some wedding cards etc), as albums are bulky and I am not married any more either. Would you consider taking the photos out of the album and keeping them loose in a smaller, lighter container? - As you are planning to travel, a plastic food storage container with a tight fitting lid would keep them safe and dry.

Dear One Success19, W@W! You are really "kickin' " & taking no prisoners! I agree w/Lizzie on the small plastic w/lids storage that you can use for photos. Books can be so bulky, & it's so easy to at them in a box. Plus, if you get one of those "Fancy" Photo boxes, you can display them on a shelve or table for you & others to look through as you wanted. Actually I don't have all tha many wedding pics - one book and a couple large ones in folders.
Then I had pics of other stuff in various places - consolidating those into one.
Got pics in picture frames - I already tossed alot of pics - had tons of duplicates from those big packages - and again just too much to store - dd has a scanner - but she is out of state - she can scan those easily.
Tossed out tons of books - even in the plastic where I keep all the stuff including pics - it still changes color and starts to degrade - and it was in closets that have climate control - just realistically - stuff doesn't last - I don't think mass produced books were meant to be kept forever.
I like photos in a book - they don't get touched that way - skin oils make them degrade.
Nowadays with digital - you can have 10,000 pics online easily.
The amount of paper documents I have - greatly reduced - but can't get rid of so much of it - it costs money to get some of this stuff replaced - though much of it can be tossed right before I leave.
Most knick knacks need to be tossed too - I don't want the same old junk to display when I return anyway - not like it is antiques anyway.
Found just about every piece of costume jewerly I have owned my whole life - most just junk - lots of that needs to be tossed too.

Dear Success, I kept my wedding photos of my first marriage for my sons. Gave some to both. I'd suggest that rather than keeping them all, just save a couple of really good ones for her. She doesn't really need them all and probably won't value them as much as if there are only one or two.
You're doing great. I'm wondering why your were ripping up books, though. It seems a waste of time and energy. Can't you just toss them whole into your recycle bin or trash can?
Re: the wedding photos: After my youngest son moved out of his house here in town and moved out of state, I watched out for his house while trying to find a tenant. The tenants found the stack of wedding photos way back in a cupboard in his basement and gave them to me. Son hadn't even realized what had happened to the photos and didn't even know he no longer had them, apparently. I told him about them, but they are now in my possession again.

Ironcially the best jewerly I have seems to have broken chains or whatever.
I actually want to sell some of this jewelry - but there is no place much in this county to take it to sell it.

if it is gold jewelry then there are mail in places that you can send gold items to be sold....they pay cash for the gold stuff they buy if you wish to sell after they weight it and determine its value for scrap.....cash for gold is one....click them on web and get a mailer if you wish....it is insured and costs nothing to mail it in...if it is broken gold chains and stuff they melt it down.....hugs btt just thinking of how to sell stuff from your remote.....

Those mail in places have a bad reputation for various issues however.
