We rescued a rabbit on Friday. I am happy to have a new pet but not happy to have a new mess to clean. I didn't know rabbits were so messy! I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I have a ton of dishes to do from this weekend also since we had company plus I had church, etc. My d.h. asked me to clean out a corner because he bringing home something for the cats to climb. The laundry, the dishes, etc. Can I do it? Do I want to do it? Is anybody else going to do it? Calgon take me away! Or should I say I think I can, I think I can?

Good for you!! That is so wonderful that you came to the rescue of that rabbit. Now you need to enlist your boys and DH to help with his/her care. Perhaps you could give each child a specific task, such as boy1 do the feeding, boy2 do the cage cleaning, boy3 provide time for the rabbit to get exercise. Then rotate these tasks on a weekly basis. Ask DH to supervise and educate the boys on rabbit care to ensure all is done properly. Good luck with your new family member

Momof3, Best wishes on the new bunny. As Peach said, enlist their help and the new "baby's" care will be shared.

When faced with this many different things that all feel like they have to be done at once, set a timer and attack one area. At the end of that time, take a sip of water, stretch, reset the timer, and go at another area.
After a couple of rounds, set the timer for a break.
This usually gets me out of the "I have to do it all yesterday!" mindset.
I agree with giving the kids responsibilities with the pets.
