I started decluttering a couple of weeks ago and managed to make some significant progress.
I stopped the decluttering part simply because I'm working a three week job that takes up a lot of my time. Also, I've got an evil little summer cold that's making me more tired than usual. Plus, today I've got to head out to a music festival in spite of the rainy weather to do an interview. ...grumble...
Anyway, I'm trying to keep on point re upkeep (washing the dishes, putting things away, the litter box and just maintain what I've done so far). That's good because I usually fall short there and don't build in a routine for regular cleaning and maintenance. I'm doing that this time around, but also factoring in my personality. (I'll never be someone who washes the dishes daily...every other day, okay, but not daily.)
However, I got an email from someone asking for a place to stay. I won't offer my place up for that, but it was just a reminder not to do what I always do when I get on a decluttering spree...loose track and get distracted. My place is just not there and I don't know this person very well anyway. I don't have time to do more than wash the dishes and hang the laundry. Then I have to run out of here.
But, to my credit, I did start early in my vacation this time. When this 3 week job is done, I'll have two more weeks before I have to go back to work to put into decluttering. It might not be perfect by the end of August, but I do think it will be close.
Getting an email from someone asking for a place to crash just reminds me that I've got to keep working on my place so that it can be a place to crash.
