We can't find Easley King. My fear is that he passed on (he is a little on the old side), and he's just unlocateable because of all the clutter. He definitely didn't get out. I am completely frozen. I don't want to lose my baby kitty.

Oh, I am so sorry. Until you know for sure realize that sometimes cats can disappear and worry you so much. I don't know how they manage but they really can totally disappear only to reappear hours later stretching and looking for supper. I am hoping the very best outcome for you and Easley King.

He was in the linen closet behind everything. We don't know how he got in there, and we're not sure if he could get out.

Oh my goodness, so happy to read this story has a happy ending! My cats hide like that sometimes and it makes me so nervous.

I'm so glad he's okay! Silly kitty. Worrying his mama like that. You fuss at him for me and give him a snuggle.

thank goodness! so so relieved for you.
someone a while ago posted about how they had workmen in and they opened a hole inthe wall, did stuff to the pipes, then they closed up tthe wall- you guessed it, the cat had gone in the hole at somepoint. they realised where she was when they heard "meow" coming from inside the wall!
my friend lost her cat for almost a day in her very small very uncluttered apartment. he got into the kitchen cupboards and apparently just decided to sit there silently for nearly a day even when she called him. she even looked there but he was hiding behind something.
maybe, if it doesn't freak you out too much, try to memorise these moments of feeling of panic and then relief, and use it to motivate you to work on your home. you don't want to have to worry about this ever again, and you will feel great relief once its over no matter how horrible it is to work on it.

glad you found him , my elderly cat is currently sleeping in between boxes behind the sofa , her latest hiding place ,only knew she was there when i laid on the sofa and it had a heartbeat like in a horror film or something .
I too worry that she will pass away somewhere inaccessible in the clutter .
incentive to excavate the hidey holes huh.
cheers BigRae

Glad he's found. I try not to panic when one of my three indoor cats goes missing. One used to jump up in the laundry room ceiling and get between the floors of our house. Also one squeezed thru a hole in the bathroom and got into our basement crawlspace. They all come back when they get hungry.

My cat does this about once every three years. I'm serious. He completely disappears for many hours. I go absolutely nuts. I go through aggravation, to panic, to not caring, to wanting to kill him (just kidding) and around and around. I look EVERYWHERE. I have NO IDEA WHERE HE GOES. It reminds me of Little Girl Lost, the Twilight Zone where the little girl disappers in her room.
