I hate that part where things look worse before they look better. I don't have anything profound to add, and yes, I know, "it's always darkest before the dawn"... But boy... it's hard sometimes to clear a pile, and to live through the horrible, messy, jumble until it is finally organized into "clean". Fortunately, in this case.. not gross or dirty... or rotten.. but FILLED with ENDLESS STUFF! Sometimes, when things are in a pile, the pile looks surprisingly innocent. It's only when you start moving and lifting and rooting around that you realize how MUCH STUFF you managed to stuff into a relatively small space. I forgot that part about me. I am good at squishing clutter into tiny spaces. BLech! My bedroom decluttering continues. The end is nigh... I can see it, but boy.. the process is ugly.

It's 5:35.
For the first time in two years, I have cleared The Pile.
For the first time in two years, the floor is empty.
For the first time in two years, I am able to open the door to my second closet.
Now, granted, there is still the loveseat to empty, and the top of a dresser. There are still the contents of my desk and the contents of one closet to sort/declutter.
But I am FINALLY seeing some real success in this chaotic bedroom.
I think that soon, this will really be a haven like you see in those decorating books. Peaceful and calm. Practical and pretty.
The work continues...

Thanks everyone!!! It means a lot to me. This has been an ongoing struggle.
And thanks for asking about work, Hope... School is going well... Honeymoon stage. The kids are around 10 years old... but I also start two classes with the Kindergartens next week (3 and 4 years old).
So far, my group is incredibly small... I am used to teaching close to 30... so it is a miracle to have closer to 20. But that probably won't be permanent, as I keep getting new kids registered. There are some very, needy little ones in the bunch, much more than usual... It will keep me busy.
I am excited to see what the year brings! I realize again, that I am at my best when I am in the classroom with my little brood. I am happier, calmer, funnier, more patient.. and just generally a better human being when I am with my little ones.

mellowyellow-Good for you on the work you have accomplished!! I know my bedroom is at the bottom of my list for decluttering, but I WILL get there. In the meantime, having clean sheets on the bed and making it every morning is enough to keep me from feeling too bad about it!
Keep up the awesome work!
