I get so overwhelmed with cooking sometimes! Mostly what it is, is not having enough recipes in my head to just think oh hey, I have these ingredients so I'll make this. So I don't know why just now it came to me to look up a recipe organizer online. I found one! I'd like to share it with everyone in case someone else has this problem.. (or if you're like me you write things on small pieces of paper, then save them forever b/c you loved the recipe.. only to find it years later... etc) www.wegottaeat.comso far this seems like a great site! i have started to enter in some recipes, i have to look for some others, but I think this will help me to maybe try to be more organized when it comes to mealtime! yeah!

Thank you so much!!! This is exactly what I need YES, I keep little scraps of paper with recipes on them, they are shoved into a drawer with all the other recipes books, pamphlets, ads, cards, etc...it's just a mess!! I forget what I have all the time. Then when I'm looking for another recipe I'll come across one and be all "oh we haven't had this in a long time and we like this" kind of thing. And best of all, I have the time off work to do this too!! Thanks again!!!

Thankyouthankyouthankyou!
I love to cook! I have recipes copied from bottles and boxes , odd note cards, stuff from old cookbooks, things I made up that turned out well--and no place to put them so that I can find them again without a major hunting expedition. Now I do! Fantastic!

Cool!
I am always leery of keeping everything online, as I once had my computer fail right before I was going to cook something fairly complex for guests, and had no back-up copy of the recipe. However, it seems like a great tool, and I bet that I could print out back-up copies and keep them in a tidy three-ring binder somewhere. Right now my recipes are all sorts of disorganized.

i am glad I am not the only one who has recipes stuck in lots of random spots! I am glad that this is useful to others! I have really been enjoying putting the recipes in, and by seeing that I DO have things I can cook, I know its just a matter of getting organized and maybe I *CAN* have dinner cooked more often instead of just having quick sandwiches or whatever! good luck with you all in putting the recipes in as well!!

Interesting site, Gringa. I have begun using RecipeZaar to search for and save recipes. I haven't loaded any there, yet, but you can do that, too. (I tend to have very simple recipes, so I think that when I look closed almost everything I cook will already be entered.)
You can search recipes by ingredients, and you can use the site without joining. However, I did join so that I can have a "cookbook" there, and save all kinds of interesting recipes! Here is a link... www.recipezaar.com/cookbook.php?bookid=1
When I have a functional computer and printer, I sometimes print out recipes, and keep them in a folder in a kitchen cupboard.

I take back what I said!
So far, I really love this website. I'm making dinner for tonight thanks to it. No more having ten thousand internet bookmarks!
The only problem is that I can't seem to edit the "notes" feature. The site appears to still be in beta, so I hope they can fix this glitch.
Thanks for the link!
