I hope that hopehope sees this thread. I thought of her and her book-situation and posted it because I thought it might help.
I was at my son's high-school for back-to-school night last night and stopped in at the library. I have a lot of books that have been read and just don't have a home library to keep them in! I asked if they take donations and they said yes, and I think that will be one of my near-future projects. Boxing up the books and delivering them to the school!! It will make me feel good to know that many will get enjoyment from them.

I love to read Mysterys and romance. I set my books free into the wild. I leave them at the Dr. office, dentist. Any place where you might have a wait. I got the idea from a website that you can use to track your wild book. (I do'nt do that) but, you could... You may leave a book at the airport and than track it to some far off places if the person that picked it up goes to that web site. I just put a note in the book telling them its ok to take the book with them when they leave. I ask them if they would just return it to the wild after they are done with it. Our school has a family fun night and they collect books for that you can get 3 books for $1. The school uses the money for playground equipment.
As a last resort you can alway put them into the paper recyle box.

I have used the idea about leaving books in places where people can find and use them. I thought it was a neat one, I might do that again with paperbacks.....I do work in a doctor's office for Pete's sake!!
