I had an interesting experience driving to work this morning. I was in the right hand lane on Rt 95 thinking about the whole squalor issue, and how much I've learned from and enjoy this board when I noticed that I was behind a pickup truck just loaded to above the sides with all kinds of stuff, just thrown in, helter skelter. I thought "That looks like my house" Just at that moment two very large rubbermaid trash barrels (empty ones, thankfully) and a milk crate went flying off the truck and landed in the lane in front of me. I was able to slow down and maneuver past the barrel and crate and into the breakdown lane, where I stopped the car. One barrel bounced across a couple of lanes before stopping. Luckily, it was after rush hour, so cars were able to swerve around the barrels. The driver pulls into the breakdown lane ahead of me, sprints across a couple of lanes of traffic to get the barrels, and then gets back in his truck and starts backing up. As I'm sitting there, watching this, thinking how I really needed to get to work and all that messy stuff was impeding my forward motion, I thought "Whoa! Just like my squalor is impeding my forward motion in life!" It was an awesome moment, and I all I could think about all day was sharing it with all of you.

It's cool when waking life is as symbolic as dreaming! I love your living metaphor, tiredofthis.

We put our lives on hold, saying, 'I will do that wonderful thing I want to do after I get this place cleaned up...." Yes, I would call that our messes impeding our forward motion.
Thanks.
