This is the W.I.T. (Working in Threes or 3's or whatever) thread. EVERYONE IS WELCOME, even if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing. Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
.... YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post. Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

Good morning Rosebud and Madtiger! You are off to a good start! Madtiger, pancakes sound good. Here's the TADA's: 1) Made coffee. I put the coffee and water in the machine last night, so alls I had to do was press a button. I'll have to do it that way more often. 2)There was a high magnitude toddler barf incident here in the middle of last night, so all of baby's bedding was in the washer this morning, waiting to go to dryer. It's drying now and another load of towels from upstairs bathroom floor is in the washer. baby is his cheerful self this morning, so I guess just a little tummy bug. 3)I took out the trash, including the forgotten empty Easter basket that was taking up a big piece of the kitchen table. Also threw away some leftovers that were not edible anymore, but had not yet reached "BIOHAZARD" state in our fridge. To do: 1) Remove some clutter, any clutter, from our bedroom before hubby goes to bed this morning. He works nights and sleeps days. I'm a morning person so our bedroom gets pretty bad. 2) Unload dishwasher. 3)Fold more of laundry pile before the clothes/bedding I'm washing now are ready, so it doesn't feel like I'm going backwards and not getting this task done. See you in a bit.

Good afternoon everyone,
'Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!'
That is good because I do feel very fed up with myself today.
Done: up prayer reflection write a little to landlord and wonder if and how I will ever get the letter finished look at kitchen floor and wonder how and if I will ever get it clean phone friend and discuss things with her and arrange to meetup tomorrow
Todo: write a little more to landlords - every bit counts and with wordprocessors it is so much easier that it was - yes I am that old. wash up and clean the kitchen floor once - if it needs another clean that is fine too but it needs one clean first listen to radio serial for one hour on a prgramme which I enjoy

Hi there rexroth! Hang in there, you are moving forward. I hate dealing with letters/paperwork. The more important it is, the harder it gets to get moving on it, it seems. I've been putting off the mess on the desk. I'll get some bills ready while you work on your letter. *dreads dealing with bills* I remember using a manual typewriter (with sticky keys) when I was a kid. Every time I used the "a" key, I had to put the key back down by hand. Writing by hand was faster, honestly. Thank heavens for word processing and computers! TADA's, round two: 1) Bagged up a T-shirt of mine that is two sizes too small, and some computer speakers from the bedroom. Off to the thrift shop they go on Tues. We bought better speakers with a subwoofer, so these are just clutter now. They had been stitting untouched on the dresser for a year or so... 2) Put away two of those mesh hampers full of folded clothes that have been sitting on our bedroom floor for weeks. Found another laundry basket that I don't even remember having that had some of my seven year old's clothes in it, and got them to his room and put away. 3)Put another load in the washer/dryer. To do's 1) Fold more laundry. 2) Get a few bills ready to go, and throw away some junk mail on desk. 3) Declutter something, anything in son's room. Cable guy will be here on Tues afternoon, and I haven't even started. Edited to add: Godd morning, cando. Hope you feel better soon. The bed sounds lovely.

Excellent work everyone! Its been a long while since i participated in the Three thread, but today this might be the motivator I need. As some of you know, Hairy and I are moving from our littel tiny trailer to his grandmas house next door. I spent a while there this morning, mopping the floors and cleaning woodwork, windowsills and baseboards. sigh. probably close to 30 years since some of thats been really cleaned. Now Im back home for a bit and have some things to do here. so here goes:
~hang load of wash on line to dry ~ persoanl care challenge ~wash dishes
Back ina while!

Hi pegasus48! WTG on laundry, papers, and weeds! I have plenty of all of the above, too. I bought a "Weed Dog" weed puller a few weeks ago, and still haven't unwrapped it...maybe today will be the day... The Weed Dog is supposed to be good for people with knee and back trouble, and is said to work great when the ground is wet from rain. It rained a lot here during the night. Well, I got some paper clutter shifted, and ready to leave the house! Woo hoo! TA-DA's round three: 1) Cleared a foot of paper crap---mostly junk mail and empty envelopes--off of the alleged "bill-writing desk"! If I keep this up, we will have ---*swoon*--- a surface upon which to write bills out! As an aside, I'm trying to get used to paying more and more things via the internet, so this clutter won't get so bad in future, I hope. 2) Folded three loads of laundry, some were items I had not seen in weeks, maybe even months. I still have more laundry to wash and fold, but at least the pile is shrinking overall. 3)Gathered up the laundry, with son's help, from seven-year old's room. Since some of his clothes were really muddy and grass-stained, I'm starting that load with a prewash in lots of Oxyclean, then I will rewash it with normal detergent before puttin it in the dryer. To do's 1) There is a hanging clothes rack in our dining room. I need to get the clothes off of it and into their respective closets. 2) Throw away the clothes rack. It's really wobbly and old anyway. If it is gone, we can no longer use that part of the dining room as an auxiliary family closet. 3)Unload dishwasher. Back after lunch!

Good morning everyone! I have not made any progress on my "big goals" this weekend. So I am going to follow the "motivation follow action" rule and do some little tiny things instead of worrying about the big stuff.
Madtiger - you deserve to brag! Bed, bathroom, and dishes, excellent - good luck keeping the distractions at bay (and send some concentration my way!)
CanDo - Hope your head feels better. Are you going backpacking soon? How fun!
Tadas: 1) Read 4 chapter of "Ramona the Pest" to DD 2) Got breakfast for myself and DD 3) Put away leftover food from breakfast
