Yesterday I took some vinegar, baking soda, and hot water, and scrubbed down the walls above our bathtub. The walls used to have tile, but the landlady hired someone to fix those walls and now they're fiberglass. But no matter how I scrub, I can't get this crap out of the bottom! The bottom looks so gray and dingy. I've tried soaking it in vinegar, baking soda, and hot water. Can anyone help me out here? What should I use that'll get it nice and clean?

Is the bottom of the tub one of those textured, non-slip surfaces? My tub has that. The only way I can get it really clean is to use a scrub brush and a powered cleaner like Comet or Bon Ami. The brush can get into the little spaces of the texture and the powered cleaner is more abrasive than baking soda.
If you suspect that the gunk is mold, you can fill the tub with a few inches of water, pour in some chlorine bleach, let it sit for 15 minutes and then drain. Rinse with plain water. Then scrub it again.

After you scrub with the Comet, leave it to sit for a while. Maybe that will help.

Well, at least I managed to get the outside of it clean--see that new shower caddy in there? Just got it yesterday, tossed out the mangy-looking one.

Bleach water and leave it sit. You will see the dirt dissolve after awhile....and then put a 50/50 mixture in a spray bottle and spray it on the mold in the grout to get that out too! Make sure to rinse everything really well afterwards.

What I just got through doing was letting it soak in bleach and hot water for a good 20 minutes. I have a little rectangular scouring pad with a plastic handle attached, so I put on some gloves and scrubbed...I got a LOT of it off.
I rinsed it and I just got through scouring really well with Comet, and now it's sitting.
I do see some improvement! Maybe later I'll have an "After" picture...?

I've been plugging away at the bathroom. Got brand new towels, a new rug, a new shower caddy, and a hamper to replace the big laundry basket. Bathroom is now pretty much at maintenance level.

The worst state my bathroom has been in is overflowing laundry basket (Mount Washmore) and people missing the wastebasket throwing away tissue--and the bathtub. Not really a level 1...but enough to make me roll my eyes. At least my son knows better than to leave his toys in there.
Amazing what new towels can do. It spurred me on, so now the bathroom looks a lot better. The hamper takes up a lot less room, and the hamper holds basically one load of clothes. Now we're talking about getting a toilet paper cabinet...it holds four rolls and a box of tissue--has an opening at the top for dispensing tissue.
We also put in a new shower curtain. The commercial-strength kind is the best--otherwise it'll rip too easily off the shower rings.

I'll bet you have Dollar General stores in Ohio. Try the cleaner called 'Awesome'. It's amazing. Spray it on. Let it sit a little bit. Use a scrub brush and you should see the black start to lift. Rinse with water.
I don't know how long it will take, but if you need to repeat the process, I really think you'll find 'Awesome' is much less trouble to use than bleach and other caustic cleaners. It's also very cheaply priced. Maybe not as cheap as bleach, but cheap all the same.
