So I volunteered to start bringing things over from the old SS site into the archives here - including links. I tried to start last night and realized - ahhh, I don't know how to do it! Soooo, can any of you tech-savvier people (from what I can determine that would be anyone and probably their small children too - ) tell me how to do it? I'm good at the grunt work, I just need a map... Thanks, notc

To answer your immediate question, you can post links one of two ways. To have a link that looks like this: Squalor SurvivorsYou would type this: {url=http://www.squalorsurvivors.com/}Squalor Survivors{/url} Except with square brackets [] instead of curly brackets {} To have a link that looks like this: www.squalorsurvivors.com/You would type this: {url}http://www.squalorsurvivors.com/{/url} Except with square brackets [] instead of curly brackets {} Now... What are you planning on copying over, and do you have permission from the people who posted it? Nothing on the static pages may be copied over without Pigpen's permission, and nothing on the forum pages should be copied without the poster's permission. (And preferably, the poster should sign up here and be the one to do the copying.)

Thanks for the link help Angelinahedgehog!
Also, thanks for the clarification of the stuff on SS. Like I said, I had volunteered, but then wasn't quite sure how or what to pull over. I actually thought that I shouldn't pull over people's personal stories without asking for permission. But I didn't think about the copywrite on all of the SS stuff (although it's right there on the bottom of every page!)
Anyway, in between my question and reading your response, it looks like this has been discussed a lot and we won't be pulling anything over - unless individuals choose to bring over their own stories etc.
But, still, it's nice to know how to do a link!
Thanks,
notc
