There are several animal rescue groups that are in Galveston rescuing animals. I have searched but have not been able to make contact with any of them. I believe that there is an outside chance that Antonio may be alive. He was in the bedroom that was the furthest from the outside wall.He was not on the Harborside where the water came from. His glass aquarium was on a tall table. The flimsy lid on his cage came off easily. The water rose and quickly dispersed. It was like a quick flash flood. He could have gotten out of that cage and gotten to the blinds or the ceiling fan. I can get someone to unlock the apartment door. I understand that Austin and Houston Humane Society are making door to door rescues. Can someone find out how I can contact them, PLEASE??? My apartment was on "the strand" and on UTMB (University of Texas Medical Branch) property. Leave the information her and I will be checking. Thanks!

I don't know who is doing that or how to contact them, but I have forwarded your message to the director of the sanctuary I volunteer with. Maybe she will know who can help.

- Update from the Galveston County newspaper: www.galvnews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=e195643143f0ffc5The article is about the group I mentioned in my above post "Code 3". Geez.... 10 days? If somebody is homeless and without power, how do they access a website to see these pictures? - Another article saying similar things from the Houston Chronicle. www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6009795.html- The Galveston County News mentions Jim Boller, of Code 3. The Houston Chronicle mentions Kay Mayfield, director of emergency services for Code 3. Both were talking about rescuing pets from Galveston. Yes, call Code 3 in Colorado (see my earlier post in this thread) and maybe they can connect you with one of their workers in Galveston. - Okay, more about Houston SPCA As animals are rescued and lost animal reports come in to the Emergency Hotline (713-435-2990) being staffed by HSPCA, information is entered into the PetPoint Animal Management system. Every 15 minutes this data is then uploaded to www.pets911.com/disaster-response-pet-portalOwners who recognize a lost pet on the website can call the hotline and their information will be immediately attached to the animal at the shelter, expediting reunification. So ... you can check that website every 15 minutes ... and keep calling the SPCA Emergency Hotline (713-435-2990). =

I hope Antonio got out. Maybe he got outside the building and is living in some bushes?
