Last night I suddenly couldn't get into the threads in SOS, nor in the SOS Moderators forum, nor even my PMs. Nor could I get into the threads on another ProBoards forum. Every time I clicked on a thread, or PM it would flash open and redirect back to the main page. I thought I needed to reboot my computer, that the problem was on my end. That did not solve it. This morning, I decided to Google 'troubleshoot ProBoards' and found this thread in the ProBoards Help section: support.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=support&action=display&thread=273853If I did not find the answer on Google, my next step was going to be to move to another computer and see if the problem was widespread. However, I see the problem is not uncommon to the ProBoards communities, but that it seems as though it is IE specific. I, too, have not changed anything in my IE settings, nor updated my Windows XP files recently, so I don't know why it suddenly did this. But the fix suggested regarding deleting from the favorites and adding it back in worked for me. The other option is to switch to another browser. I am posting this here in order to give folks a heads up on this. If this happens to you, I hope that you can remember there is a solution and an fairly easy fix. The trouble is that when you are in the middle of it, finding that fix can sometimes be very hard to do when you can't read the threads that may address the problem and its solution. Apparently the problem has only been reported by Internet Explorer users, so many of you may never run into this problem in the first place.

ProBoards is currently under a DDOS ("Denial of Service") attack. If you are unfamiliar with the term, check here with Wikipedia. A hacker(s) is maliciously trying to to flood ProBoards' servers and bring the website to a halt. What this means is that you may have trouble accessing ProBoards until they can either halt the attack, or bring in enough servers to answer the demands. They are working on it.

I had the same problem. Until I tried to open another forum page by right clicking on it and opening another window (= having two forum windows open at the same time). It worked.

I was having the problem, and added the URL as a "safe site" under internet tools. I was so upset because I thought I was never going to be able to log on again.
