I wish I had been online earlier. You can put your mattresses on the floor and clean them with a carpet steam cleaner with enzyme cleaner in it. Just stand on the mattress and use the carpet cleaner, ... Then let the mattresses dry in the sun and after you get them clean put moisture barrier pads on them that can be washed on a regular basis. Again my favorite Sun brand oxygen cleaner gets out spots and the enzyme cleaner gets out the odors.
BTW, more and more CPS offices are getting involved when children are overweight. I know that some WIC and other agencies report to CPS when children are not being fed correctly... not just when they are going hungry. If your children are significately overweight, please do them (and you) a favor and seek help so that you can show that you are taking their health seriously. My grandson is significantly overweight and his doctor told his mom to address the issue --or else he would have to report it.

How did it go today? I hope you managed to get through most of it. What day is your trash day? Are your u hiring a private trash company to come take the extra stuff or are you near a dump you take it to. Someone on here said they ripped up a carpet today as the pee had gone through and I don,t think she or he could save it. How did your carpets come out? It went ok. Took a break from downstairs to try to clean the pee smell bedroom. I can't get the smell out, I can't pull the carpet because its plywood underneath. I think it could be the walls too so I'm going to wash those. I stocked the fridge with healthy food and made a meal plan today too. I needed a break from cleaning. It drains so much out of me. Hi! If you're still having trouble with your carpets, have you tried vinegar? I had the same problem with one carpet, and we were afraid to rip it up because we didn't know what condition the floor was underneath (old, old house) so I had to clean it clean until we have the money to replace it. Anyway. I mixed some white vinegar with very warm water (about 1:1) and saturated the stinky areas. Someone mentioned that things soaking through to the pad underneath is problematic--hence why just a carpet shampooer won't work. The vinegar neutralizes the ammonia in the urine, but be warned--the vinegar smell is very strong, too, sob e prepared to finish the whole job before you get started. I let it sit for a while on the stinky parts. Then I used some old towels to soak up as much as I could--I basically stood on them until they were saturated--and then shampooed. I have read posts about using baking soda as well for odor problems, somehow in conjunction with the vinegar; I haven't tried it with this exact method, but I'm sure if you Google it you can figure out how to add it in there (if you want) in such a way that the vinegar and baking soda won't make a big fizzy mess. Here is a link to using vinegar in your carpet shampooer: www.make-it-do.com/clean-it/spring-cleaning-carpets-the-natural-way/ . Again, this won't solve the problem of a malodorous pad under the carpet, but it may come in handy. Good luck!! By the way, I'm gluten-free too Re: an earlier post about baking things that smell nice...I <3 my Scentsy (and Wal-Mart equivalent) for making things smell nice (baking GF stuff can be soooo time-consuming...oy vey!)--it helps inspire cleaning! Or else I will simply put some water on the stove to simmer and sprinkle cinnamon in it. Smells divine
