Today is the first day of my 5 day staycation. I don't have to go back to work until Friday. I'm so glad to be home a couple days ... get sleep at night and be able to do the last minute things with the girls before school starts and be here the first couple of mornings. Yesterday was a long day and all I did in the house was keep all things breathing alive and the dishes. I worked an 8 hour shift and then went straight to hair dresser after work. She had a cancellation. I was thrilled because my hair was in need of a trim and the color was needing done too! I had my girls in to her the day before for hair cuts. For school, I think the only thing left I need to do before Wednesday is go shoe shopping with them and then make sure we hit the grocery store and get things to pack for lunch (juice boxes are the main thing.) Today so far started really slow. I slept in until 9:45 am! I was up until 1 am though. And it's my catch up day for sleep. Dishwasher unloaded, loaded & running Work 50 minutes at desk -- going thru boxes & bins of stuff, reorganizing craft items, purging some old items, etc Gee really looks very unimpressive. !! Oh well. Everyone has been fed twice today, dressed, diapered, me showered and all are happy. We'll see what I feel up to once hubby leaves for work.

So much to do and catch up on from the last 3 days of work. I don't even think I will make a list yet. Just need to get up and move.
The main things I am giving hubby to do today are litter box, floors in dd#1 room and he has to go to Lowe's and get something to repel raccoons and other critters as he discovered last night the animals have made their way under our house. They're clearly ripping out the insulation which is going to need to be checked on. Had this problem with the house before we moved in and bought it. *sigh*
My big jobs that I can think of aside from picking up in EVERY ROOM would be laundry of course!

Need to make a general plan for today. Since the construction workers/city crew decided to pave the driveway portion of the sidewalk in between our buildings this morning around 8:30, I am not going to be getting out of here right on time. At 8:45, they told my driver who needed back to our storage shed where the papers are kept "30 minutes." I park in this area because I am here super early and it's the safest place for me to park and get into the building quickly and avoid the homeless people and creepers. So here I sit killing time and hope that in 10 minutes when I head out, I really can drive across and get out and on my way home! General Agenda Work 3 am to 9 am (ish .... have to wait to leave now) Lunch with my husband and little boy at Olive Garden 11 am (we have a gift cert to use & want to go early and beat the lunch rush) Visit my 97 year old Grandma after - we'll get there after she's done with her lunch between 12:15 - 12:30 and stay 30-40 minutes tops 7 yo home from school 1:30 pm (early release on Wednesdays) 14 yo home from school 2:20 pm Nap 2:00 - 3:30 pm So I will have a little time after I get home and before we go to lunch to do something. Boy will want to snuggle probably. And then afternoon/evening is when I will get going. To Do For Sure Unload Dishwasher & Load Wipe kitchen counters Empty kitchen trash Fold/Hang & put away load darks Fold & put away load towels Check rooms for more dirty laundry Wash another load? Make 2 birthday cards (1 coworker is tomorrow and 1 last week but on vacation) Check backpacks after school Homework for girls? Any paperwork for school to take care of? Feed kids and me dinner Bath for kids

Today was another work day. I was scheduled 7 hours. It was a very unusual Friday. We are normally quite busy but that was not the case. I asked the lead if she cared if I left an hour early but we had 2 ladies showing up within minutes and then the last one 30 minutes later (the time I had planned on leaving) and she said I might as well leave then. So I only worked 5.5 hours. I don't care about the loss of hours. I worked 6 hours on Sunday, which is an extra shift. I am just tired and have a 8 hour shift on Saturday plus 6 or 7 hour shift (depending on how busy it is) on Sunday again. After work, I just hung out with husband and 2 yo. Finally took a 2.5 hour nap. Lounged around the house all day. I didn't get busy until about 6:30 pm. Here are my evening TA DA's. Gather all dirty laundry in house - sort & start 1 load Pick up misc items and deliver at least 1-2 while making trip from room to room (many small bathroom items will end up in kitchen like brushes, nail clippers, etc) Fix dinner and feed 3 kids Move empty bins/boxes to garage (to use for clean up/purge) Put all recycle on kitchen counter in sack under counter (gets emptied once full) Put away rice cooker & misc food items (from hubby's shopping trip yesterday that got forgotten) Unload Dishwasher, load & run Wipe kitchen counters & sink Cleared clutter off of 3 counters! The last counter has all the misc crap I have to deal with in a basket. It was the worse counter and had all this stuff loose. So it's at least contained for now. None of this stuff belongs in the kitchen! Filled my Keurig carousel and made room on top of fridge for it (2 yo likes to take all the Kcups out, stack them like blocks AND throw them around the house if they're on the counter where he can reach with the assistance of a small chair Filled Keurig with water (so ready for am) Cleaned up leftovers from dinner Cleared dining room table and wiped Quick sweep with hand broom under table and around edges of cabinets in kitchen - not shooting for perfectionism, just trying to get some of the loose bits up Tidy shelf in entry way - replace all items in my wallet 2 yo dumped when I was napping (husband just piled it all up) - Went thru junk mail sitting on entry shelf - girls' backpacks and coats in cubbies - 7 yos and husbands shoes put away in cubbies Misc dirty dishes gathered from house and added to dishwasher before starting Laundry rotated - colors dryng & darks washing clean sheets from dryer onto 14 yo's bed Picked up dirty clothes and towel from 14 yo's floor Emptied laundry room trash (I forget about this until the lint is overflowing usually) Folded 1 kid blanket from my room and placed in linen closet Removed 2 items sitting in linen closet that have been bothering me (room deoderizer and a can of kids spray on sunscreen - put these away in bathroom Picked out clothes for tomorrow (minus pants - they are in washer now)

CourageouslyLion SeeksSerenity --- Thank you! I'll go check out my PM's. I think I was in such a funk all of November and December. It seems once my birthday rolls around, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, the days just get shorter and shorter. Also work has really taken a toll on me. Long story short we lost one person in the office and one driver. I work in the office but the lead for the drivers. We have been stretched super thin. And so most weeks I work 6 days (still under 40 hours though.) I just worked 6 days and have today off. Then work another 6 days. I also took on the schedule so I find that when I am trying to shuffle people around, I end up "picking up the slack" more than I probably should. I hope you had a great holiday! I am really looking forward to next Monday. Kids have been home for way too long now and we still have a week of Winter break. So my almost 8 yo is starting to get stir crazy. 15 yo really doesn't mind of course.

This week has been exhausting!! Mother-in-law flew in late Tuesday night. After working Tuesday, I came home and worked with hubby to get the house in good order. Wednesday was my only day off this week. Actually in the last 17 days off, I had Wednesday the 1st and Wednesday the 8th off. Now I'm on vacation Sunday the 12th thru Monday the 20th. 9 whole days!! Of course MIL is here through the 17th. So not restful. She has had my husband taking her everywhere to go shop the last 4 days. And out to lunch. I have been busy with dishes, laundry, keeping track of kids when they're not home and dinners. Today I feel really wiped and so relieved I am home for over a week. I've had sick kids home a couple days this week and so ready for them to be back to school on Monday.
This afternoon I am taking it easy and not doing anything hard, but did get a couple basics done:
Unload dishwasher (last nights dinner dishes), loaded up dirties they all made this am and ran after lunch time. Full on top, not on bottom. This way dinner dishes will all fit in tonight. General pick up of things in my way, gathered kiddo cups and snack bowls, dirty socks, etc. Washed load of darks - drying now Washed load of lights - in washer now Folded & put away load clean sheets
Working on receipts I haven't entered in our checkbook for the last 2 weeks now. Really behind on that. Missed paying the mortgage a couple days ago so now I know I have a small late fee ($10 I think) to get it processed. But it happens. Going to try to finish up this mess before they get home. I have had less computer time also since MIL has been here. She is more of a Farmville addict than I am and plays on multiple accounts. So she's been on my computer a lot.

Showered & Dressed (before 8:30 on a day off .... wow!) Dishwasher unloaded, loaded & running Bathroom trash emptied Desk Trash & Recycle Emptied Tidy entry way cubbies - hang coats, remove hubby's dirty laundry (why there? no clue!), put away shoes Empty 2nd bathroom trash Empty girl #1 bedroom trash Empty girl #2 bedroom trash Empty dh desk trash Empty kitchen recycle ...... yes all cans are empty! They are all bagged and on porch for hubby to take to bins when he comes home (otherwise 2 yo is following me in and out of house and it's wet wet wet out there!) Gather dirty laundry from all bedrooms, sort into loads & start load of darks Pick up several cups and kid snack bowls found in bedrooms, scattered in living room on floor and shelves (8 yo famous for putting things on book shelf) Fold & put away small load lights Unload Dishwasher Make cake Clean out food stuff from fridge - some to toss and a couple made into freezer meals for hubby All dirty dishes from fridge cleaning to dishwasher - dishwasher running again (wow that filled up fast!) Fix salad for dinner Empty kitchen trash (okay ... THAT was the last trash to be emptied today. All the small ones done earlier) Rotate laundry Clear kitchen counter of bottles - bottle of vinegar back to bathroom cleaning shelf, 3 bottles of sparkling water for hubby's lunches to garage shelf along with 1 bottle champagne and 1 bottle sparkling cider (did not open New Years) Swap laundry --- lights in dryer now and 3rd load (towels) in washer Wiped both bathroom counters and sinks down (before starting my load of towels, so got that one in too!) Answer texts for 8 yo's friend's grandma .... has a gift for her. Invited her to come to dinner too. And agreed yes oh yes and YES they can take anything from the woodpile my husband created on half of our driveway last week! (He tore down his work bench he had built a couple years ago and doesn't use now. He intended on putting the wood back in the garage and store for "some other project" but left it outside. It's been rained on all week. But if they want it, they can have it. Frankly he has the garage in such a total utter crappy chaotic mess, there is no room for it! Clean toilets Tidy up bathroom stuff on counters & put out clean hand towels Clear misc clutter from corner kitchen counter (hot spot! Still has MIL's cola and whiskey ) Wipe down kitchen counters Wipe down kitchen table Frost cake Found some pink paper cake plates Wiped down fronts of microwave and fridge Folded blankets and tidied pillows in living room (sofa) Put away a few more misc things on shelf in entry Swap laundry --- towels now in dryer and tossed mop pads (from last week) into washer Phone call to the vampires - confirmed they are coming tonight (yes I woke them!) Group text to Mom, sister and BIL so I can get a guestimated head count for tonight. I kind of know but would like an answer from BIL. Fold/Hang & Put away 2 loads clean clothes - did together Unload dishwasher - me Pick up toys in living room & family room - together Vacuum living room & family room - dh Sweep kitchen floor Sweep entry way Wrap presents Make birthday card This was the only thing that didn't get done. And I knew she wouldn't care either way. Great party!

Yesterday I got a huge amount of laundry done! Folded & put away 2 loads that I had washed the previous day. Been sick so really wasn't up to doing anything more than running them through the machine that day. Washed 2 more loads of clothes yesterday and put all away. Plus washed 1 large blanket, 1 comforter, sheet set and rugs. I'm still only feeling like I'm at about 65% of my normal run-down self. So not going to push too hard today. I have 5 more hours of work too. Here's my list for today after work.
Wednesday Afternoon To Do
Fold & put away comforter in dryer Dry rugs Wash, dry, fold & put away load darks
Balance checkbook to bank Work on March budget (yes the month is halfway over) Work on vacation budget
10 minutes toy clean up in toy area
Dishes - machine should be full by lunch and can be run
Evening Routine
Feed all that squawk loudly Homework with 8 yo Reading with 8 yo Baths for 8 yo and 2 yo Get my stuff ready for work for Thursday - clothes, coffee, purse located, etc
