I finally did get clean enough for the delivery man to come in. I thought the refrigerator was going to be annoying, but it was actually disgusting! There was liquified, putrified fruit in the crisper. Thank god still in the plastic bag it came in. There were about 4 gallons of milk. One was non-fat. It had separated its components somehow, and there was a yellow, pus-like liquid mixed in with globs of white stuff. There were gnats? clustered all around the entries to the fridge, like by the door on the top, and in the freezer by the door. I have no idea...They were all dead and frozen, literally about 1,000 of them.
My frozen food was all stuck to the freezer and there was a smell. When I moved, the movers let me keep my stuff in the fridge, and I am thinking that maybe it melted and died then, or maybe my son had left the door open at some point in time? No clue. Either way, I threw out a city trashcan worth of food.
I don't think I have ever cleaned this fridge before. I got it last January, and as I was cleaning today I kept noticing cool features, so I don't think I had ever gotten close enough to look it over before.
The fridge is now well stocked with fresh groceries brought by the delivery man. My son is in another city with my mother and he has been all excited for three days because he knew groceries were coming to our house. That makes me want to die, it really does. Why should a little guy be excited just about groceries? He said thank you to me about a hundred times after we ordered them online. He does eat at least three times per day, but it is always fast food, at grandma's or at school. I am so ashamed....I hate how I have been living. There is some mini mess now that I cleaned the fridge (dishes to wash, items to organize, floor to swiffer) but I am taking a break right now. The fridge cleaning and all of the trips to the trash have me red in the face.
I also cleaned out my entire living room, including the guinea pig cage. They were so happy, they were purring. It also has a little bit more work to do, and I am going to get to that as well after my break. I am going to take an hour break, because that fridge thing was huge!
