So I feel a little torn and stuck. How am I going to do my dishes? Forget about taking a bath myself. I feel also very cold as they are fixing the boiler, it's making a lot of noise as I live on the first floor just above the basement where they are working.
I am afraid of creating a pile of dirty dishes, the way I've been maintaining is by doing them as I go. I've a tiny sink. So when I fill it I get unmotivated. The morning dishes are in the sink now. I don't want to add to them and haven't had lunch.
I am also trying to conserve money. So I've been doing my own cooking for every meal (this is uncommon in NYC where we eat out a lot, small apts mean you meet your friends at restaurants and bars) Still I'm thinking today would be a good day to eat out or order in. The funny thing being I don't want any of that food! I want the food that I make now! So interesting.
I don't want this to send me into paralysis. I want to be able to adapt to these situations, as they do come up in life.
On the positive action side, I filled out a form and mailed it for a program that would give me free medications for a bit while I'm on unemployment. Also I filled out a form and faxed it for the pet food poisoning claim. My cat did become sick after eating those foods in 07 and it was a very expensive hospitalization at the time.

Time for the old fashioned boil water for dishes thing. I have done this many times in the past. Camping--ugh. Anyway just boil some water and then pour it into the sink with some cold water until it is a comfortable temp. I rinse mine in cold and then wipe them dry. If you only have a few this is not a bad way to do it. I have washed my hair this way too! Of course it took 2 of us. But it was doable. After 5 days it was a necessity for me.

Oh good idea! I can use the stopper from the tub and fill the sink with boiled water and cold. Thanks!

Wow those years of camping really did come in handy. NOT that I am in any hurry to relive the wonders of nature any time soon.
