Ok, not crisis, really. Speedy, chaotic "someone is coming over" cleaning.
Someone is coming around the apartment complex today to inspect the furnace and change the filter.
This is fine...we are (or were) at a high level 1/ teensy bit of two....remember we just had the plumbing/sewer leak last week and still feeling behind from that...and things were looking pretty rough.
This morning before coming to work (a little late, to be sure) I made things pretty presentable.
- Vacuumed large stuff/here and there
- 2 bags of assorted trash out
- scooped cat box (and put kitties in bedroom with water & food)
- emptied, loaded and ran dishwasher
- swish and swipe (and stuff stored) in the bathroom
- burned incense/sprayed febreeze (nothing really stinky but still musty from the plumbing thing, and I am paranoid)
- cleaned off counters and coffee table
- did a "clutter run" putting random stuff into a box and stashing it
- stashed bunches of junk & clean laundry into the spare room.
Whew. You can really get a lot done in an hour (given the inclination) but I hate the crisis-panic mode.
(And I hate when strangers are in my apartment, and, worse, the cats are forced into a bedroom!) Sometimes I really hate being a renter.
And my significant other (though, bless 'em, he's done like 10 loads of laundry this week) ...he didn't see why I was stressed about other people seeing the mess (??) Sometimes we are low-key about the most opposite things.
They are going in for the furnace only but...c'mon, of course they're gonna look around and judge a little. (I think, anyway.)
Thanks for being around for my vent!
