- Shelby ... here you go. I found this online when I had to go to court for a credit matter. I discovered that the laws are different in each state, BUT ... this will give you a general format. This item comes from the state of Washington. I had to adapt it to the laws of where I live. You'll need Adobe Reader to read it: You most likely ALREADY have adobe reader on your computer. In which case the link will open automatically when you click on it. If for some reason, you need Adobe Reader, you can download it here: www.adobe.comClick on the following link. There is a place within that tells how to declare income, etc. www.lawhelp.org/documents/1387410205EN.pdf?stateabbrev=/WA/Also: Click on the links on this page (again they're from state of Washington ... and the laws may differ where you live.) But the concepts and formatting are easy to understand: www.washingtonlawhelp.org/WA/showdocument.cfm/County/%20/City/%20/demoMode/=%201/Language/1/State/WA/TextOnly/N/ZipCode/%20/LoggedIn/0/rpc/1020100/doctype/dynamicdoc/ichannelprofileid/13866/idynamicdocid/1643/iorganizationid/1553/itopicID/859/iProblemCodeID/1020100/iChannelID/7/isubtopicid/1/iproblemcodeid/1020100The above links were originally authored by the Seattle Justice Project. Their writing is clear and easy to understand. Their writings later became melded into the Washington state page for www.lawhelp.org/To find the rules in your own state, go to www.lawhelp.org/ and then click on your state. Hopefully, the links from your own state will tell you what you need. But if it's unclear, then use the Washington state info as an "interpreter" to the format, but use your own state's link for your own state's rules. Each state varies as to amount of time limits, amount of funds, what is allowed, and what is exempt from collection. -

Thank you Lion. That was helpful. I found the papers I need to fill out online. I now know what to do and where to go. I just wish I understood more of what all of it means. But I will get it done. It will be done correctly. Life will continue.
Thanks for the encouragement!

Well it is all done. Now I wait for their answer to the affidavit. I am so glad my son went with me. I had a major panic attack in the parking garage. I was hyperventilating. He talked me down. I almost bolted at the courthouse door. It was not bad. Even though I had to jump through hoops and go here, now go there....ick. But I did it. I am so proud of myself. Of course without him there I don't know if I would have even made it in the door. So the saga continues. I hope I did it all correctly. If not I did preserve the case by filing by the due date. Another biggie for me. Someday I will have my house, life and $$ squalor free!
