Help, Celeste ! - or anybody! I don't know what I did, but my font is really small and faint. It's really hard to read. I've been trying to increase it, but it's not working. I'm using XP on firefox right now. Thanks to anyone who can help me. Sue

Woo hooo papermoon !! It works! I didn't know how to do that before! Thanks again, you've saved my poor eyes! Yes, I knew about support ending for XP. I've been doing a lot of reading on the situation. I was doing some tweaking, and that's probably how my settings got messed up. I have an old desktop. I'm considering buying a laptop with Windows 7. And thanks for the 2 articles I'll go read them right now.

Hi, Monitor Resolution: Worth checking your screen resolution - maybe you usually prefer to use 1024 by 768 but perhaps you set it to 1280 by 1024 or something higher - effectively all your fonts look smaller. Change your monitor resolution windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-xp/help/setup/change-monitor-resolutionMuch much much more rare: Another less often setting change on fonts DPI (Dots Per Inch) .... if you dig around in the Control Panel > fonts (or maybe Display - sorry I'm using Win7, so can't give exact directions), well there can be percentage setting there, e.g. might normally be 100% or 125%. I'd only use changes here as a last resort as I see the first section of this response may be your best bet. I say this, because making 'random' changes here can make fonts blurry. If you make changes - note them (what setting, where, to which value etc), so you can return to the previous settings. Regards, Owl.

On Firefox, "Control +" will enlarge the font and screen image. Keep hitting that to get bigger and bigger, then "Control -" to go smaller. Let us know if that helps, ok? Microsoft will .... This doesn't have to do with Firefox or Microsoft. In any PC, regardless of browser or system, CTRL + (holding down the Control key simultaneously with clicking the Plus key) will increase the font size. CTRL - will decrease the font size. The same feature exists on a Mac -- except you use the Command key with the plus or minus (instead of the Control key). The Command key on a Mac looks like this:

Thanks for the expanded answer, Lioness! As you say, that zooming in & out feature is not exclusive to Firefox. For those of us using Firefox, we have a selection of zooming options offered in the drop-down menu at the top left of our screen, under "View". If you use Internet Explorer, you can refine the enlargement or reduction of screen image in 1-percent increments by clicking in the lower right corner of your screen.

Well, blow me down! Here it is April 8, the advertised kill date of Microsoft's support for Windows XP, and I just this moment received an update alert from MS for XP. The XP security updates are downloading right now. Hmm, guess I'd better hop over to Life Hacker and see what gives.

Yup, papermoon , I have XP and I got 2 updates since April 8th. One on the 9th, and one on the 11th. I think Microsoft was using scare tactics as a marketing scheme, trying to get a lot of people to buy W7 or W8. Just my opinion. We'll see what happens......

The only reason I am not using XP right now, is because scribbliz gave me her old laptop, with 7, I will not stop using my old computer until it quits working, just because Microsoft is not supporting it, it's not a huge deal. Your PC will not explode. I actually lent a friend the xp recovery discs because her computer didn't come with them, and her windows 8 had been messed up
