I am glad to have found you people. I neglect myself and sometimes stink as much as my home. I have a room-mate so I do not live alone. He has problems also but hopefully will want to change if I can manage to overcome my problems. I also save everything and especially plastic bags! I crochet them into purses and laundry bags book-bags etc. (my fave relaxation) I give the completed handbags to a nursing home when I go see my brother plus I use some for myself. I have 4 dogs and 2 birds. Also there are MANY spiders living here which bite me and I am scared of. If it is at all possible I want to get my life and home together and have company over. That's it for now and hope I am not to hopeless of a case.

Hi Baglady, Me too! I want to see those bags! I've never heard of that done before and what a great 'green' idea! I'm glad you came here too. I know that after I read some of the stories on the main website that I no longer felt so bad and a lost cause. I actually gained some confidence that I can actually do this. I'm looking forward to seeing you more often! Welcome!

Welcome baglady !
This is the place for those who think they are hopeless to find out that indeed, no one is.
It is possible. Someday you will tell us all about how you had company over.

Welcome baglady, I hope to see your pics also. There are a lot of creative people here, but your idea is really unique! 3g (As in third generation squalor survivor.)

Thank you everyone, I hope these do not look stupid and hope the pictures show up. I have dozens of purses that I have made and gave away already. My brother even has a bag on his wheelchair. I just wanted to add they are easily made by using a chain stitch. It is not my idea. It is a craft you can google on the web put in the search, "recycled plastic bag crafts" Some of the sites show complete instructions.

Welcome, Baglady. And what lovely bags! I have a creative use for plastic bags....I double them up and use them to scoop litterboxes! (Not as often as I should, though. ) I envy your creativity. And I love that you share them with people at the nursing home.
Keep reading and posting. And thanks for posting pics...those bags really are lovely!

Welcome Baglady!
I think your bags look great too. I wish I were patient and skilled to make them.
The ladies in my church crochet plastic too, but they make sleeping mats that are sent to refugee camps in Africa. These mats are bug resistant, and mold-proof, plus they are sturdy, washable, and help to keep people off the cold ground at night.
I love these kinds of recycling ideas!! Helping the earth, and helping the people living on it, all at the same time.

Thank you all for the compliments and welcomes. I like the idea of sleeping mats and sending them overseas. And yeah, I have also doubled and scooped some pretty rank stuff with bags.

I have crotcheted shopping bags out of plastic bags too! They are great, very strong and useful.
Welcome baglady - by the way I refer to my style of dressing as 'baglady'

Hi Razy, is dressing baglady style wearing layers of clothing? If it is then I do that also.
The bags are strong and surprise many people!
