When I click on the Chat button, I get a screen that says: This Chat Software requires Java: Get Java Now and then under that the guidelines for using chat. This happened to me before, I think yesterday, and I updated Java. I have tried the same today (twice) and still no luck. Java is enabled in my browser. When I go to the Get Java Now site and run a check, it is not picking up that I have Java on my computer. So I start to download it (again!) and then it tells me "This software is already installed on your computer. Do you want to reinstall it?" WT~ I also updated windows and restarted my computer. Using IE and windows 8.1.

I know this isn't much help, but I have read that there are issues with Java while using IE 11 in Windows 8.1. I do not know if you have the same problems if you try another browser, but I would suggest that if you have another browser installed, try getting into chat with that one and let us know.

Go to your computers control panel and remove all installed java then go to java.com/getjava and install the latest update. There have been problems with some who have had older versions of java on their system that were not deleted when they updated. The above hopefully will solve your problem.

Thanks all, I have been able to get into chat using Chrome but I had to go to Java in Control Panel and add a different website somewhere under the "exception site list" on the security tab.... client11.addonchat.comHaven't had time or energy to play more with accessing it in IE but I will try Greg's suggestions soon, thank you all!
