That is how I got much of my house to maintenance. After bombing for fleas due to son who was living with us and their owner not bothering to get a flea collar or anti flea medication I had to bomb which meant everything was unusable. It took 3 ,yes 3 ,eight hours days of dishes, pots, pans,Tupperware, storage containers being handwashed and running the dishwasher. I have lots of pots, pans, and Tupperware storage containers plus when my mom shut down her restaurant I had her storage containers too.I use all of it by the way.Yes I do believe dishes are a good starting point.
After I did all the dishes and dried them I didn't want to put them and n dirty shelves so I cleaned those and since many of shelves are open I didn't want them unorganized so I organized them.well now the dining room didn't look nice next to the kitchen so I cleaned that so yes cleaning snowballs. I now have over 75 percent of house in maintenance. Thanks dishes.

How is the dishwashing going? Just finished cooking supper for the family, putting mother, goats, horses and birds to bed, and feeding all the critters. Now I'm working on transferring wireless phone service from AT&T to Straight Talk. Then I will put leftovers away and start the dishes.

How is the dishwashing going? I was wondering the same thing. How's it going, dayeanu? Are you doing them all as planned? EDIT: Oops, you just posted the same moment I did. I'll check back later to see how you're doing.

I love this concept. I have always struggled with laundry and dishes. Maybe if I can just get the dishes down, i can move on from there!!!

Now that all my people are back home from vacation, I'll be back on my regular routine of doing the breakfast dishes in the morning plus my three meals a week when I am responsible for cleaning up after supper. Things got a little out of control while they were away.
We each cook three meals a week and do dishes 3 times a week. and the cook never has to wash dishes. I do the breakfast dishes and keep the bathroom clean in exchange for never having to vacuum or wash floors.
I would never not do my designated dishwashing because it would result in Expressions of Displeasure. Nothing like a little accountability to keep one on the straight and narrow.

Dishes: I think about loading and running the dishes as soon as I get up in the morning. After I get back from my walk, I put up the clean dishes and then start loading any dirty ones right away. Throughout the day and while cooking I keep on loading. My sink generally stays clean and I don't have many to do at one time.

Sorry I am repeating post having problem using phone. Some of my posts were double posting, too. I think it might be a ProBoard problem

You can delete your own multiple posts by clicking on the little gear that is in the upper left hand side of each post-- it brings up a drop down menu that offers a delete post option. I had to find this --my iPhone loves to double post. You can also edit your post if you phone's auto correct posted something weird. (I'm blaming all typos on my phone--they couldn't possibly be MY fault!!!)

unfortunately for me doing dishes daily may be the key to success. unfortunately because it's the thing I'm most resistant to.

Once you get used to having a useable kitchen, you will WANT to get the dishes done. I can no longer function when it's a mess. Yesterday, I dropped by GoodWill they had pieces of my beloved TeaRose dishes. I bought a fluted serving bowl, 4 fluted soup size bowls that I will use for serving and several dessert plates that have the decals. I came home, washed them and put mismatched dishes in a box to discard, swapped out the pretty salad plates for non decorated ones and discarded the plain ones. So I have new items with no clutter impact!!!!!!
