Good morning, motivational buddies! Some are dark roast, some are instant, some tea, a neocitran for lucie...and a hot chocolate too! Great work, everyone! I was up earlier than usual, because I didn't zumba last night after all - wild winds out there, eh hollyhock? My DH said the highway was "brutal" and he never complains about driving. My friend wanted to go anyway, but just getting down our country road was a hazard, with all the branches down. I didn't want to go, period - the sky seemed to glow a weird colour before dusk yesterday, like a tornado! So we went back to her house and had a few beers. I came home and the internet wasn't working properly, so I just went to bed - the wind was making scary sounds, and I didn't want to hear it anymore. So, with all that rest, and knowing I have to leave in an hour, I've watered the plants, fed the animals, tidied the Kitchen and bath, cleaned the litter box, and the biggie: hauled out the carpet cleaner and redid a stain that I'd made worse on Sat. Weird pee stain, I hope I got rid of it this time. Now I'm wondering if my dog is marking in there daily, or what?! Please smell, go away!

cyn with the persistent pee stain. Here's what I did this morning... early morning got started (well, more like middle of the night)... bad thing is I didn't get any sleep... folded load of laundry put that load awaay Put another load in washer Washed sinkful of dishes Started on the Long sink counter in my kitchen -- Put seasonings/oil/vinegar away. Need to put some things in cabinet above this sink counter, but it is full! Hmmmm. Went to put bottle of Puppy's med into box where I keep dog meds... but it was totally full!!! Hmmm. Tossed from sink counter & from that cabinet: Jar of Ovaltine, jar of some kind of nasty chicken boullion, container of decorative sugar colorful little bitty balls for cake/cookie decorating Pulled 1 recipe book off shelf in cabinet to ask DS about... if he doesn't want it, I'm tossing it. Tossed from Dog's Med box: 9 partial or full bottles of pills -- oldest one going back to 2010. Moved load of laundry to dryer Tossed from Seasoning's Cabinet to make room for seasonings from Sink Counter: 2 more containers of cake/cookie decorating sugar, etc. & 1 box of gel food colors. Tossed some more from sink counter: 2 bottles of liquid medicine, 11 empty bottles of DH's med, 3 empty containers of Almonds, expired packets of some type of med, expired bottle of meds that were all stuck together, another bottle of expired med that was all dusty. Also, old recipe holder that DD made for me when she was either in Pre-school or Elementary School. I loved it, but it is so very dusty that it is really gross. I've loved it and used it most all this time, except I noticed this one was not holding any recipe cards and hasn't been for months! I have another one that is full & practically overflowing.... Put 2 empty bottles into recycle bag. Put 9 containers of meds in closet in front bathroom -- things like Alleve, Tylenol, etc. Guess what?! Med area in closet in front bathroom is full, too! Had 2 toss 2 unopened containers of expired meds in 2009!!! (Aveeno Anti-itch cream and Vitamins). Tossed some coffee & a dust covered lollipop (unopend) from Breakfast Bar. Washed off that Long Sink Counter. I still have too much stuff on it, but it is so much better. I was able to add my parent's and brother's drinks to the counter. I really removed a lot of stuff, but it still looks pretty cluttered. Argghh! I'll have to think of solutions by the time DD comes in town... if possible. Emptied kitchen trash & replaced bag CD

Hello everyone! Cyn, good for you for getting stuff done even though you have to leave for work soon--that's my big problem, I can't seem to get a lot done unless I have a HUGE chunk of time to work. Cando, I'm glad you're enjoying time with your son, but continuing to declutter. I think the biggest mental shift for me came when I opened a cupboard door to put something in, and it was full, and instead of thinking "this is full, I have to designate more storage somewhere else for this category of item" to "this is full, I have to get rid of some things in here to make room for something higher priority because this is all the space I have for this type of item". So you have the right idea, you just have to do the difficult purging! I will now have busier days all the way through Sunday, although I'm not overwhelmed with business--which is bad financially but good for my mental/physical well-being. I've lost some pet care clients over the years (mostly through people moving but also some animals dying) and never pushed hard to find more because with my arthritis and just not being young anymore I can't walk all day long even if I had the clients. So I'm not longer busy from morning til night on holidays where people normally go out of town. During this busier week I'm going to just try to maintain where I am, which is all rooms decluttered except the main desk, which really isn't too bad. I would like to get a start addressing my Christmas cards too, since it seems like the few weeks right before Christmas always go by in a blur and there's never time to enjoy the process then. Have an excellent day, work-along folks! Diane

cyn - I'm glad you decided to stay safe from that wind last PM. I hope your work day goes well. cando - you have been so busy already. All of the decluttering and tossing I can't recall when your company arrives, but I think soon - I hope you can get some decent sleep in before then. I have had a quiet morning so far. Had coffee #1 Planned my day Found something in my packed stuff for my email password! Read 2 days' worth of daily Bible readings (I'm behind) Had my shower and dressed Made a cup of coffee Now to do my daily stuff - then drink that coffee.

thank you, cyn I am sure it will help. (It is sold here as Coldrex) Men, do I get bored now, when I am stuck at home for the second week. I have low energy level and not much to do apart from reading and I got so restless this morning that I packed all my Christmas presents And of course it made me so tired I spent the afternoon in bed with a book. I hate it when I get tired so soon. I really have to work on my stamina when I get rid off of this virus. Btw, two weeks is an usual time my body needs to beat any virus. That is why I want to work on it.

Hi dtesposito. I hope your busy week goes well, and you get your Christmas cards done. Feeling my own aches and pains while working lately, I can certainly relate to your walking problems too. Walking any distance really seems to aggravate my back. I hope you keep well. lucie - I hope you get better real soon. Boredom is not good. I know it can be a real time stealer, but have you looked up anything on Pinterest? My personal favourite is houzz.com for lots of decorating ideas. Warning - both are addictive. I have done my daily stuff - kitchen, bedroom and bath. I put away some additional items from the DR table that had come from boxes that were unpacked. I washed off the glass top coffee table and 1 end table. I printed off my bank statement. Then I drank my coffee. Now to continue on. Plan now is to move some small tables out of the DR to temporary locations, vac that area (either side of china cabinet) - and move more boxes of china from the entrance area (in front of coat closet) to the DR.

Thanks for the tip, hollyhockActually my mind runs wild with dreaming up how to redecorate this flat... it runs so wild I have a trouble to fall asleep in the evenings. I think I just got the LR thought through. But you reminded me there is one other thing I like to do and have not done in years - my jigsaw puzzles. Great plan for tomorrow. P.S. I wish I could come over and help you.

Did not get as much done (quantity wise) as I had hoped. But the quality was better.
I got the messy part of the hallway dealt with - and I washed the floor with murphy's soap. The floor is filthy and will require a deep cleaning - but not last night.
I also assisted hubby in dealing with the water that backed up in the laundry sink in the basement. It was disgusting, slimy and skanky smelling water. Now the sink drains freely and I can do more laundry.
Got several loads of laundry folded. It seemed like 300 socks needed to be matched and folded. My son does landscaping work and he will often wear one or two pair during the day and then change to a clean pair at night. So he needs a lot of socks. I also folded lots of shirts.
I like the folding - i can sit and do it wherever I want and it is mindless and relaxing.
Tonight it will be restack everything behind the sofas to clear out the center of the LR. Wash the sofa covers, Vacuum the LR floor
Re-clear out the front entryway
TRY to deal with some stuff in the DR.
Tomorrow will be deal with what remains in DD room and on her bed.
Tonight I need to go get my free turkey

Thanks lucie - but you stay there and get better. Jigsaw puzzles are a great idea! I'm slowly making progress. I cleared out everything - except the china cabinet - in the first half of the DR. I started at the top of the china cabinet and dusted down and the finally cleaned the glass shelves and doors. Got that half of the room vac'd with the bagged canister vac. (Note - I am using the bagged vac so at the end of the week I can remove it and toss it down the chute!) (I still have the stick vacs, but I want to wash them all down before I use here.) Then I washed the parquet floor in that half of the room. (Note - by moving stuff out of the DR, I now have extra stuff in the hall, entrance, LR and the newly cleaned kitchen. I hope that can all be moved somewhere easily. I'm having a sandwich while that floor dries, then I can start hauling boxes of china over into the DR. Then I will move the table and chairs again and do the floor on the other half of the DR.

ALL of the boxes from the entrance and the DR are now neatly tucked away on either side of the DR - 7 boxes there and I think 4 or 5 under the kitchen desk. This looks oh so much better. I moved the table and chairs over on the other side (against the china cabinet) and vacuumed and washed the floor the rest of the floor. I have been vacuuming the window tracks as well. Once the floor dries I may try the table in the other direction, because I am trying something else out. (I'm trying to fit the oval coffee table somewhere in front of the big window to hold some plants. Last night I put it in the LR, but it's blocking the balcony door. I think if I turn the DR table it might fit on that side of the door. So that is the next step.

ohblondie. You are getting a lot done. Is Murphy's soap good on floors? My apt has parquet floors, - they look clean but boy am I mopping up a lot of dirt. Does the Murphy's get oily to walk on? I guess I never thought of it for floors before.

hello everyone, wow, so much has been happening. I need to get started. I am hoping to make some real progress today, not just keeping up with basics. so far I have: * had coffee * checked litter (no need to scoop), swept floor & refreshed water * opened door for Ms Kitty on demand (3 times so far) * kitchen trash out, replaced bin liner * wasted time on the internet I need to: * tackle dishes - DH has made moussaka, using up the left over eggplant * make up bed for next guest (all lines have been washed) * more grocery shopping, to buy the stuff I forgot yesterday (that's what happens when you forget to take the shopping list!)

Hi jendela - good to see you. Good luck with your day - it sounds like a busy one. I did move the DR table - and then the coffee table in front of the window on that side. Layout is better but iffy. I'd love to see how other similar apartments here are set up - or is my furniture just too big? I think its okay - I have a path to the door now, behind the couch. My main objective is to enjoy the view from my LR, plus easy access to the balcony, and I now have it. Whatever I decide it now looks 100% better than it did a few days ago. I also got the 2 boxes of pictures moved into the back corners of my bedroom, and a few other small things moved. I indulged in a couple of mini butter tarts - and whether that was the cause - or that I hit the low point of my day, I quit working then. There are a lot of things on my list on my blog not done today, but I am not in a race - I just want to do what I do right. I may get a bit of dawdling done after my supper, but I mainly need to relax and prepare for work tomorrow, and maintain what I have done. I have to be at work at 8:30 AM and I'm scheduled for a 6 hour shift, which usually causes me lots of hip and back pains, so I may not be back tomorrow, but I am off Thursday. (Note that working here, moving boxes and furniture does not bother me - it is the walking and standing constantly on hard surfaces that does.

Hi again, everyone - what alot of great work you've done, while I was at my meeting! Ugh, lucie I caught your cold - so I just ate more cold-killin' chili. Buzz off cold, I don't have time for you! Hollyhock, I hope you have a good day at work tomorrow. Diane, it's not so much that I'm good at working before work, it's that I had no choice, rotfl: I had to get that stain up asap because I ran out of vacuum bags, and I can't use my carpet cleaner on an unvacuumed carpet. It's just a regular Bissell home-use type, and I don't want to wreck it. If I'd waited any longer, it'd suffocate on dog hair! All I'm doing tonight is relaxing. I need to get up early and get right at it again tomorrow, because my undercoating appointment is at 10am, and it's garbage/recycling day - and that'll have to be taken care of before I leave. I'm pushing my limit again, with a whole bag coming from my outdoor work yesterday. I've also got 2 more started in here already. That's definitely a record for me. Aww shucks, now I feel like I should get my laundry started....ok, I'm going!
