Unswamping and SetMeFree, Hi neighbors, fortunately that last storm missed us... I was starting to worry about the next storm moving in, but apparently that has been downgraded in our area, but I'm still expecting a mess on Monday morning. Wow it's cold out there! Stay warm!

They're predicting a foot of snow for us by the end of tomorrow--I love snow, and we haven't had much this year, so it's fine with me! One foot shouldn't cause too many problems, especially since it'll be falling over a 24 hour period. It's also fun because most of the dogs I walk love snow and want to play in it. Diane

Ally yes, we were pretty lucky with the last storm. This weekends storm started as 6-10 inches of snow and i just checjed now and it is down to 2-5 inches of snow with up to a quarter inch of ice. Uggh, id rather just have the snow. Since its going down to the teens tonight and tomorrow high is going to be in the twenties, maybe it will be all snow.

I have been forecast snow all day for the last few days, and have changed my plans accordingly. Am getting slightly fed up of the forecast being wrong... Friday it did snow all day, but after a quick white out at lunchtime that left several inches it all melted and all the hard surfaces were clear again. Car share did my school run for me, when tbh I could have managed it. Yesterday it snowed a fair bit, but nothing settled at all, and by the time the roads were not icy and the skies clear it was too late to take the cheebies out anywhere before it froze again. A whole day wasted, and dh is away so I would usually have taken them out for a treat somewhere (KFC probably !). Today is Sunday, which means that all the shops are closed anyway - the cheebies love going to a big craft shop nearby where they can look at books, craft kits, play video games etc so I often take them there when we have free time. And although KFC will be open today this morning we do have snow, and I ordered meat pie things (local product called a pâté lorrain if anyone is interested) for our lunch anyway. So, we are stuck indoors today when the last two days we could have been out and about. Feeling a little claustrophobic. On the other hand, I just found The Waltons on the tv, and as predicted dd is loving it !

It's raining here AGAIN and supposed to change to snow tonight. My brother fixed my feed trough so I won't have to wade through the mud, but I will still have to put my boots on just to manuever two or three feet without sinking. I am REALLY REALLY looking forward to spring. I think I will plant some tomato seeds today.

well, the last storm passed us by. But, I think the storm prediction for tonight going into Monday is going to hit us hard! Our forecast has been changed from inches to feet. I think we had started out at the typical 3 to 6 inches, but now we're up to 18 inches.
Maybe I will finally get my snow day?
I wonder how many football fans planned this storm! A snow day after the Super Bowl Wahoo!!!

I really wish we could bottle this and send it west. I know it would help those who have been dealing with mud and muck and snow. And for those of us in California, we're headed toward another drought year. Since we've had so many bad years in a row now, food prices are going to show the impact of the drought again. And I worry about even hightened fire danger.

Here in South-Central PA, the "crippling blizzard" for Jan 26/27 amounted to...flurries. Last night's snow looks like maybe a couple of inches. I am NOT complaining. Nope, no complaints here!

well I got my snow day! We had 6 or 8 inches when I woke up, school was cancelled, so I did not go to work. It is snowing like crazy and it will snow all day. We should have close to 2 feet by the end of the day.
So I'm focusing on laundry and kitchen today.

We ended up getting over a foot--everything looks so pretty outside! I don't work until later in the day, but I'll be out walking around mid-day because I have some errands--I know that if I was driving instead of walking I would not be liking it so much. Diane

We got another 10 or more inches of snow today between the periods of sleet. NO work. I worked on a paper pile today. I didn't finish it, but it has shrunk down a lot.

We are not forecast any snow. I just got up to find a new dusting of the stuff everywhere. I have very little faith in weather reports just now.
