Please join me in coming up with a personal challenge for the next two months. Whatever will make a big impact on your home and/or your life! Paraphrasing a great quote that I've seen, "If you make a goal you might not get there, but if you don't make any goals, you definitely won't get there!" So let's do our best to make something good happen over the next two months. Here are my goals, the first two are "winter goals, the sequel". 1. BOOK BOXES I'm now down to 12 book boxes in the LR. Four are neatly tucked into a corner so they can stay. Two form part of the stairs up to the cat table for my cats, (one is old and arthritic, the other is missing a leg). So they can stay too. That leaves 6 boxes that have to get out of here by April 30th. These will be harder, because I've done the easier ones already. 2. BLINDS I have 11 sets of blinds left, and I'm not going to clean them all in two months, I'm just going to say I will make an effort to get some more of them done. I guess if it takes all year, so be it--they waited 17 years, they can wait another few months. I'm still not ruling out buying new ones, but since that won't necessarily happen, I will keep trying to clean them, a little at a time. 3. CLEANING SCHEDULE I have a modified schedule ready to go. It's not as elaborate as past ones, and it's divided into 3 parts--two are daily and weekly things that I want to hold myself to doing regularly. The third part is monthly, extra jobs, which I'm not going to commit to doing--it'll be a guide in case I have extra time, and it'll be a goal for the future. If I can do the daily and weekly things, some of which I'm already doing, for a two month period, it should become regular enough to not seem like such a huge thing. So I'll try my best to stick to this schedule, and when I neglect to do something I'll just pick up with the rest of it, instead of giving up altogether. 4. STRETCHING EXERCISES Years ago I did weights exercises regularly. I felt wonderful and strong. The last couple of years pain has thwarted all my attempts to start them up again. However, this is no excuse not to do stretches. I feel myself becoming less flexible, less steady on my feet, I'm moving more and more slowly because I'm afraid of falling or pulling a muscle. I'm not yet old enough for this to be happening, and I know that stretching is the thing that makes the difference. I'm also hoping that if I can get to feeling limber again, maybe some of the pain I feel when exercising will not be as bad, and I'll be able to start weights. But for now, my goal is to do my 10 minutes of stretching every day for the two months. Okay, what's your own personal challenge?

Ok, it's March. Winter's almost over. I hope. I guess I'll join, too! 1) I still have 2 and 1/2 boxes of paper to sort. ugh 2) There are still a few minor repairs and painting that could be done around the house and garage. 3) I should be doing some stretches every morning, too. Like Diane, I'm too young to feel this old.

Count me in!
I have a focus for the year of taking better care of myself. So far I have started eating more fruits and veggies, and started some exercising. At present I am using my Gazelle Glider - but I'm building up by using a chart for increasing daily walking per Arthritis Society but using times for Glider instead - so increasing the lengths of time, plus times per week according to this chart - I am on my 2nd week. So goal is to continue these, plus add in more exercise. I have also started curling my hair daily which makes me look and feel better. And I'd like to aim at getting out more.
I try to set out monthly goals or projects for my house. For March I want to work on 'fabric'. That means the fabric part of my décor, using up some of the fabric I moved with me. I'd also like to get my taxes done in March (due Apr 30).
For April I want to deal with the memorabilia totes. Get them sorted, divided, whatever that entails.

I'm in too! I'll reuse my end-of-year goal and my beginning-of-year goals, since I didn't get them done. I can't put the paperwork off any longer, because tax time is here. Closet purging/cleaning/organizing was started but not finished yet. I already know what I'll be working on for the May-June edition (my back porch - big plans/dreams for that area this year) so I *have* to do this now.

I will join in this time. Here are my goals for the next two months.
1. Establish an exercise program. I am in a cardiac rehab exercise program but only have 6 or 7 sessions remaining. I have done really well and am making good progress and I don't want to backslide. So I need to establish a exercise routine that incorporates aerobic exercise and some weight lifting stuff.
2. Handle two financial problems. I have several things I MUST handle or something bad will happen. So I need to gather the courage and energy to handle them. I will start with two that need to be handled promptly.
3. Get the main rooms of my house in shape for guests. This means the entry, kitchen, living room, and bathroom are cleared enough to be functional and clean enough that no one will call the health department. It used to be livable and it can be again. I am not going to worry about the bedrooms, the upstairs or the basement for this challenge.

WOW!! So happy to see you guys! And a nice variety of goals again, all good ones. My 6 boxes of books are divided into 4 boxes of books I'd like to try to sell, and 2 of donations. That means that each week of these 8 weeks I have to get rid of 1/2 box of sale books, and 1/4 box of donation books. That certainly sounds do-able. I will report weekly on how the cleaning schedule is going (whether it's going well OR badly) and how many days I did my stretching exercises. The blinds....well, they mock me every time I look out my windows, so I'll just say I'll do the best I can with them. I have the rest of today off, so I hope to get a start on the books today. I can't wait to see everyone's progress, thank you all for posting! Diane

Count me in!! I think my goal for the last two months was unpacking - hmmm - ok - hmmmm - Still have a bunch of boxes left to do. Main living areas don't have boxes but there is a lot in other rooms that needs to go into the main areas. Right now I have completely bare walls. Would like to have the house completely set up except for "project boxes" (like my memorabilia) by end of April. Good luck everyone!! PC

I'm in! I'm off to care for a parent for a few months. No internet will be available during that time! My goal will be to bring along a literal ton of my unfinished craft projects and get them done. Lots of quiet time. I've already been there for 6 weeks and finished quite a few projects! Looking forward to being through with all these great unfinished ideas I started and be proud!

I think I'd like to join in too. I'd like to have my father's birthday party here in May. My sisters have been here just once in three years... it's a small house and two months ought to do it if I don't give up from discouragement. Official plan not thought out yet.
Anne.

I am joining you this time and I am going to conquer that scary attic. There are only few things there, but it needs a good sweep. OK, I said that. I will do it.
I also hope to loose at least three more kilos by the end of April.

Thank you, I hope so too, Sue. That is why the attic is scary for me - I am afraid I will meet something there.

I am glad that I was able to get 3 of my 4 items finished for the winter 2 month challenge and plan to keep the last item on this list but also need to figure out a few more items that I haven't been doing so good on at this point.
1) get my room cleaned and organized especially all of the paperwork - I have been attempting to do at least 30 minutes of scanning everyday but am finding that may not be enough so I may up it to an hour a day instead. 2) Make at least 2 food items for me each week from scratch - 3) Go thru the rest of my items in the attic - 4) Go thru my items in storage - This will probably take me longer than the 2 months but I can at least get a start on it. 5) work on straightening out my bills -
