I posted this on another thread, but thought I would put it here so everyone can see this. I am horrible at giving directions, so if someone who is good with it can figure it out from this, and wants to post REAL directions, I would be most obliged.
I am working on getting some new skins up. if click your name, and edit your profile, there is a ton of things you can edit, skins is 3/4 way down the page: select skin. there are a few different choices. i will change the leaves to something plain on this one, called choice 1. keep checking periodically i am copying them from my other board, it is just a little time consuming to transfer them, so it is whenever i get time!

ok, i'm logging off for the night. i got 5 skins available. there are a few holiday ones i will work on as i get time... option 1 is the one you see if you have not edited it yet, the light blue, black text. there is also pastel stripe, spring, azul and leaves. if any of you are creative and want to give a shot at creating a skin, let me know i will hook you up with admin privledges!

Skins question:
I understand that a skin is how we VIEW the forum -- the way it displays on our monitor. The content doesn't change, but when we change the skin, we see a different color scheme displayed on our computer screen.
I see that some of the skins are dark with light lettering, and some are light with dark lettering.
So ... what happens when we write in different colored fonts? Which ones are visible on which skins?
I want my posts to be visible to everyone.

some fonts with certain skins are hard to read, if that happens, i just highlight it, and it is then more readable. or stick with a darker font skin. not sure if that answered your question or not...

Hi Missy. I changed the skin on mine to the pastel stripes because it is so very readable & bright. It is so unlike the rest of my home due to the femininity...so it makes me smile. BTW, I would consider being a moderator, but what would that entail? For instance, I am one of those that is not computer savvy, although I did manage to change the skin for me... The avatar... ;however, I had to get my DS to help me. Hugs, CD

BUMP! I was just wondering about how to do this...so will give it a try. Thanks for the tips!
Courageously Lioness I changed to Pastel stripes, and I like it! All the fonts which were black turned bright pink. But my font stayed purple. So you can still choose a color, and it will show.
I suppose you would have to be watchful for the skins interfering with reading posts. If that happens, Missy's idea to highlight is a good one.
Thanks, Mods, for putting the time into this!
