Text smilies didn't work for me in the last post Testing: Okay, here they work -- what's going on? Putting a period after them: . . Doesn't work! And I'm pretty sure it worked before. Calling Celeste ?

I don't think it ever worked reliably for me without a space immediately following. I usually typed the emoticon, then put in a space, then the punctuation. Once I've seen on the preview that it has parsed into an image I get rid of the space.

Thanks for answering; I wasn't sure if you'd find me in the test board. It did work for me in the past. I've seen some smileys "disappear" since then. Here's one of my posts: linkAt the end of the first paragraph there was definitely a and now there isn't. In the past I only had to take care not to type a at the end of brackets (some text :)) (some text because that gives another smiley.

I just had another idea and typed "lolling". You couldn't really do that in the past because then you got " ling" (without the space!) Maybe there have been changes to avoid that?

It may have been something ProBoards adjusted, flotsam. I don't know. Curious, though!

"curious" as in "inquisitve" or as in "strange"? I've (randomly) opened page 6 of my blog, and those text smileys without a space after them have disappeared. No more just ). Or ) instead of .
