Diane - Way to go on letting go of the trunk!! I know how difficult that can be. And, Angela - great job on the yarn. Is there any donation option for the brown/gray (not that I want to encourage you to keep it for any longer!) but my aunt used to crochet lap blankets for the nursing home (when she was 98 herself!). Those sound like good "man" colors. And, I know churches are always doing projects to send overseas. I think some groups make therapy shawls/blankets for those that are ill. And, I just love the "shepherd" - as a Christian you sometimes forget that there is an actual job basis for that word and it is a lovely image - tending sheep. I'm still plugging along. Nothing much new to report for today - maybe tomorrow I've been dealing with a lot of appointments and cleaning/repairing activities. And, I occasionally need to go to the office! PC

phoenixcat! What I sorted through yesterday is raw wool and mohair, right off the animal. So it does need a level of processing in order to turn it into a useful product. It is very nice stuff, just more of it than I can reasonably process and sell right now. If it were yarn, then yes absolutely I would donate it. I will be doing that with a fair bit of my yarn when I get to releasing some of that.

Worked on three FORMER "junk" drawers yesterday. Now, my cat supplies and various helpful things like scissors, tape, take out menus and flashlights are organized. I was able to clear off the entertainment unit "catch all" area along with emptying out several bags/bins of hodge podge items. I'm considering that as part of my unpacking efforts because all of that stuff didn't have a decent "home" and I needed to make space and assign one. Hope this weekend is productive or at least fun!! Fabulous progress phoenixcat! The smaller items are often as important as the bigger ones. I know I have a hard time with clutter when those small items aren't assigned a home. Good job stretching phoenixcat! ______________ I didn't make anything go away yesterday but I did respond to someone's Freecycle request for bubble wrap so that will be a couple of bags off my porch. I made a list of all the donation outlets I could think of so as to give myself some options and comfort that I can send things into the winds with some more hope that someone will be blessed. Made a couple of calls today to start the arrangements for either pick up or drop off of some of these things.

Yay! You're keeping up with the stretching! It's turning into a habit! I have fallen woefully short in that area. I'm back to two days in a row, though. Starting over. Looking back it doesn't appear that I have congratulated you on the monumental letting go of the trunk, Diane! I don't know that I could do that. Nor have I acknowledged your massive delivery of 80 lbs. of fleece, angela. Nor have I said anything about the sisterhood of plodding along, phoenixcat. There's a lot to be said for plodding! Wait a minute. I just looked again and there you are, organizing and finding homes for stuff. Good plodding. I keep forgetting that I've got another month to get the barn goal met. Now waiting to get the proposal from the contractor and decide how many things I can afford and how many plates I can keep spinning at one time. I'm doing pretty well with the normal stuff, not losing ground. Having help means a lot of work on this end to make it happen. Choosing and buying new light fixtures, disposal, exhaust fan, etc., siznce I don't want contractor grade, emptying spaces for them to work and putting back and cleaning up when they're gone. I'm sure the roof pounding is going to release all sorts of dust, too. I just hope it doesn't mess up the ceiling plaster. Fingers crossed because that would be an expensive fix, if even possible.

Wow magda, only 1 and 1/2 garden sections left to weed! I hope the mulch means that the weeds are not growing in as fast as you're pulling them out!
I worked all day today on financial updating, which isn't on my challenge list but is a procrastination item that I've been putting off for way too long--longer than I realized, when I finally started working on it today. I was not able to finish, I'll try to finish tomorrow--but that means nothing else got done.
I'm now going to do my stretching so I don't miss today, and then get to bed.

Good job magda! I really like how you have separated your big tasks into separate check-offs on your list. dtesposito, glad you took on the financials. I need to follow your example. Go job too on your stretching. __________ I took a break from sorting the stuff downstairs and stayed upstairs in my own little space. Thankfully, we got rain this morning and the day was overcast so the upstairs temperature was acceptable. I hope we get the promised 2 more days of cooler weather. I did some basic cleaning type tasks then did book sorting. I sorted my decorating book and my self-help books. I let go of more than half in each category. I have filled two big boxes of books to release so far. There is probably another box of books and magazines I can let go. I would like to have all the books upstairs and downstairs sorted before the sale next weekend. I think those are worth setting out for a buck or two apiece, they're pretty and are in good shape. I also made a couple of phone calls about donating specific things. Got some good, reassuring information.

Wow, you've done lots, magda! I meant to tag you in my latest post to see where you'd gone. I know your gardens are simply wonderful. dtesposito, good job on the financials, always prime for procrastination in my world. I'm glad you reminded me about the procrastination thread. I'm not sure I've done one this week. Oh, wait. I gathered up more papers to shred. They were stacked and basketed all over the dining room table, unusable for at least a year. angela, another wow for You! You are doing such a good job getting things out for donations and sale. Books! Half is phenomenal. Yay for keeping the better halves. I'm glad you made the donation calls and that the news was good. ARC is coming out here next Tuesday and I had to make sure they would take the 'for display only' bassinet from the 50's. They will. Yay. I'm still plugging along with the barn project by circuitous route through new roof and gutters. If it hadn't been for the roof I would not have found the barn team so, as always, everything is as it should be. This time 'as it should be' is precisely what I want.

OH NO! I'm back here to report that even though I came here last night to say I was going to do my stretching, I went off to do a couple of things to get ready for bed and totally forgot to stretch. So now I'm missing two days. I thought of it when I saw this challenge thread bumped to the top. Angela, you get extra credit for getting rid of books--they are so hard. They have such potential in those pages...too bad we don't have the time or money or energy to take advantage of all of the potential! And Sparkle, I can't tell you how happy I am that it's all coming together for you like this! Just think of how wonderful it'll be to actually get the decluttering process started--once it starts you'll be able to keep going because even though it'll be stressful, you're also going to feel a weight lifted. Unpacked stuffed animals in the basement - only one more area to go. Moved all the photo albums down to the basement. Finished all the linens and they have been put away. Considering basement complete now except for hanging some pictures. It houses my MASSIVE memorabilia project which may get started in the winter challenge and continue on until 2018. One guest room is completely done (de-cluttered and organized) except for hanging pictures. Everyone is doing such a great job. Angela - Swampie gave me a tip to check with the thrift shops like Salvation Army and Goodwill about the bubble wrap. And, yes they were thrilled to have it. I gave away about 10 boxes so far. Think I have some more PC

Thanks for the book kudos dtesposito. I went into the Doom Room yesterday, to the corner with boxes of books stacked high. I tried to start dismantling the pile, didn't get very far but did find a box of health books that I can release. phoenixcat, super job on that basement!! I'm looking forward to reading about your memorabilia project. It must be nice to have the guest room done as well. Good job on your weight loss lucie. _________________ Yesterday I got 2 big garbage bags of bubble wrap gone to a Freecycler, hooray. I also pulled out a box of books from the Doom Room to release. Sorted a small box of table linens, half are going away. I didn't have that much to begin with so am just saving 3 rectangle table clothes that I use as curtain panels in the winter and a circular crocheted table cloth that my Great Grandmother made. I have been thinking of how I could have it out more regularly. Or I might just hand it over to my Mom to have for now along with the Franciscan ware Desert Rose china that my Grandmother had. She still does the family holiday meals, I never will. So it's nice to have those things to set a nice table.
