Good day everyone. I hope it is a fine one for all. We might get some t-storms later. I'm really getting tired of this hot and humid weather but am not in a hurry for winter cold to get here either. Diane sure is right about how annoying that working for a living thing is.
The four dogs and two cats narrowly averted death by starvation when I fed them this morning. They had endured almost 13 hours with no food.
Next up: get cleaned up and dressed, do morning dishes, unload dishwasher, go on patrol and then....um, I'm not sure.

Off to a slow start this morning. I had to drop my car off at the shop. then I had to take the bus...it was a local bus not my interstate commuter bus. At least it was the "express" local and not the "local" local. I had to listen to some guy's phone conversation.... by the end he was trying to hit on the girl......so uncomfortable.
I did get some of the crap out of my car last night. And I got a few groceries. And I found my new ATM card. DD found it for me.
THis am I have to book a flight (I leave this weekend - I am waiting too long...) At least I already have the hotel. I also need to book a meeting with my unit. Ugh.
I am going to ask if the OT I put in over the past week will cover my late this am.
It is going to be a hot one here in NYS> Today's mottos is slow and steady. And Hydrate. My son is a landscaper and he left with extra water with his lunch. He will be wiped out tonight.
I so regret taking down the pool.
So everyone - take it easy today - but don;t give in. WOrk slow. Hydrate. Rest. Repeat.

Good morning mimi, are you off work today?
Calypso, I think your dogs and cats heard that I feed my old cat 5 times a day, and they would like similar service, please.
Ohblondie, are you going out of town for work? Do you get your compensatory days off for it? (I'm always worried about the compensatory days off!) It's supposed to be hot here too today, there was a little cooler morning air before, but it's time for me to close up the windows now. I hope you have good air conditioning at work.
Next:
Move clothes to dryer Close up windows and turn air on low Send a couple of personal emails Scoop litter pans Delete more emails

Shower to shoes. Dishwasher emptied. Hand wash dishes done and drying. Bedroom PEEPed. I forgot that I'd only put away half the laundry last night so got that finished today. Time to head outside for a little work, grab three things that are sitting by the back door waiting to go to the garage. Bring in a case of cat food from the garage.

dtesposito I am attending a conference in Indianapolis. It is being paid for by "The Group" and it is about Drug Free Communities and drug and acohol community coalitions are encouraged to attend. I am using my vacation time. I am actually looking forward to learning quite a bit. So any members in the Indy area? Any suggestions on where to eat and what to do? I think John Mellencamp and the Beach Boys(?) are each giving a concert one night. Any good thrift stores to check out? I can't buy much because I have a small carryon. Are there Dunkin Donuts or good coffee places in the downtown/hotel area? OK - I need to stay focused at work.......

Any good thrift stores to check out?Ohblondie, now YOU made ME laugh! You're going to a brand new town and an important thing on your list is checking out the thrift stores! That's very cool that your group is paying for you to go, I hope you get a lot out of it. Okay, I'm spending too much time on line! I have to get going here! I'm happy, I suddenly remembered that there might be room in the cabinet that holds my printer, and I was right--there's room for the entire box of copy paper I just bought! I'm just not used to having open space anywhere, so I forgot about it--good thing, or I would have filled it up with books! But now I have room for my paper! Next: Unpack copy paper box into cabinet Water plants Clean toilet Clean bathroom surfaces Sweep bathroom floor Diane

Oops, looking at my list I see I forgot to sweep the bathroom floor, I did everything else.
My plants really need some attention, there are some that desperately need repotting, and some need grooming. I also have to work on the room they're in, it's getting too messy.
I'm going to stop for lunch now, and to cool off--I'm going to have to sit in the DR where the air conditioner is. It's really hot and stuffy here at the front of the apartment where the air doesn't reach.
Be back later.

tnmimi, the updating with tickerfactory works again at last. I had my walk, but my headache vanished only after I came back. I took the recycling to the outside can, had supper and culled about 50 papers. I can't remember if I did more housework (was busy with other stuff).

Well, I had lunch and rested for a long time until I felt cool--I was starting to feel really bad there for a while. I feel better now, and have decided to go through a couple of the drawers of the dresser in the LR to see if I can make a little more room for some of the things I have out in the open. I went through the drawers about a year ago but I'll see if I can't get rid of a few things.

I got rid of some things in the dresser and made a little extra room. Now I'm going to try to tackle two of the messy areas that I put on my challenge list.

I decided to tackle my "read next" pile of books in the hallway which is way too big and unwieldy. So I sorted the books into categories on the DR table, trying to see if there were any I didn't want at all (there were a few) and some that I could put with my other books because I didn't necessarily have to read them next (a few) and then the pile of series books where I couldn't remember what number in the series they were, if I read the books before, etc. So I went to my favorite book research site to look up these facts--and the site isn't working right now! So they will sit on the DR table until this evening, when I really hope the site is working. I have to leave in 10 minutes for my dog walk, so I'll get ready now. Diane

I've been working on this book project for a long time--I thought it would take less than an hour and it's taking all evening. I'm still not done, so I'm going to finish it up and then get ready for bed.
I hope to see a lot of people here tomorrow!

Do you have a home for these books, Diane?
I was able to sleep quite long (yay!), had breakfast, made the bed, wrote a shopping list and purged old to-do-lists.
Next: shower, grocery store.
