So far I only had breakfast and started this thread. dtesposito, spider plants are not only pretty, they also have detoxifying qualities, but maybe you already know this. If not, google for NASA approved plants.

So far I have made beds, washed morning dishes and went grocery shopping. All with my niece in tow. I also emptied and defrosted the freezer, washed it and now it is back on. I am going to move things from the small fridge freezer there and defrost and clean the fridge now.

Looks like it's the time to clean and defrost fridges. I made the bed, took a shower and wiped down the tiles and tub afterwards. I went to the grocery store and had lunch. I didn't want to cook though and got me only bread with cheese. Next: digital decluttering.

WOW....for bright and early monday morning....I see flotsam and @luciee off to a great start! I am a half hour early for paid work. Makes up for leaving early on friday. someone gave me a bed for my daughter so that when she comes to visit she does not have to sleep on the sofa (her brother took her bed when she moved out). So I am checking in with everyone then jumping in to work as I have a busy day ahead of me....

GOOD MORNING! I'm starting another light paid work week so hope to get a lot done. Flotsam, I think I had heard that about spider plants a while ago, that's even more reason to get one. I noticed a large one for sale at the grocery store yesterday, but I don't buy plants there as they are usually not very well tended, plus it was too expensive. I would like a small one since they grow and multiply so rapidly. Lucie, I think I missed your niece being at your place--how long will she be there? How old is she? Ohblondie I just read your weekend update in the other thread--you're really working hard on the last few weekends! Do you know what's wrong with your car? I hope it won't involve a large repair bill (but then, most car stuff does!) I only have mid-day work today, and should be home no later than 2:00, maybe earlier. But I have 2+ hours before I have to leave. It's very hot today and tomorrow, I hope I can keep the apartment comfortable even though I only have a tiny air conditioner in the DR. Scoop litter pans Wash cat food dishes Wash utensils Clean kitchen sink Start more dishes soaking Diane

I cleaned the sink but don't know how good a job I did because the light bulb in the kitchen ceiling fixture blew out. So, next:
Replace light bulb in kitchen Reclean sink if necessary Put rest of canned cat food away Quick vacuum around bird cage PEEP both desks

My niece is six, my mum brought her last Wednesday and they are staying till Saturday. My dad is coming on Thursday too.
I scrubbed the fridge and put it back on. You are right, flotsdam, I was inspired by a thread here. And also it is only 22 C ouside today, so the food will stay cool enough in a cooler bag for a while.
We had lunch, I washed dishes and then we started making the red currant jam. My mum helepd a lot. I thought there will be about 8 jars, but we have 15. My mum will be taking 2 with her. The pots and spoons are soaking now and I washed the rest of the jars I was given. Apart from the dishes I am done for today.
Chores for tomorrow: more grocery shopping (I could not carry all today, too heavy), mop the floors a load of laundry and of course going to a playground.

I didn't get to the desks yet--I changed the kitchen bulbs and then remembered that one out of two bulbs in the DR fixture went out a few days ago, so I change those bulbs too. Next: Desk PEEPing Put ladder and step stool away Write check for property tax Check weather report Diane

good morning everyone. I had a great weekend away, and now it's time to get back to the house.
I started the day with checking on my chickens, I fed them, and collected eggs. Gave the dogs water, and chained the pup. Fed the cat I also made and ate breakfast.
I need to bring the chickens water Feed the dogs Wash the dishes

Good Morning to all. We've got a cloudy day with some thunderstorms possible later in the day. All the critters have had their breakfast and the dishes are soaking. I got myself cleaned up and dressed and started a load of clothes washing. Last night when I set the dish washer for a delayed start I must have pushed the wrong button so they didn't get done overnight so I'll start it when the laundry is out of the washer and in to the dryer. I feel like a car who's engine has been started but is not going anywhere, just sitting, idling in neutral. Why does it take me so long to get really going in the morning? I manage to get the cats and dogs fed without much trouble but then I can't seem to move on to the next step for too long a time, often an hour or more. When I think back to my working years and how I got up at 4:30 or so, got the animals fed, myself dressed, lunch packed and out the door by quarter of 6 for a 6:30 AM start I wonder why I linger over coffee and the internet for so long each morning. Is it merely that I've been retired for 10 years and have slowed down or is something else holding me back. Maybe I should get myself a time clock and have to punch in each morning by a specific time, ready to work, or face the consequences. Maybe it's time to come up with a written schedule, even it it needs to be revised many times would make a difference. Can't hurt to try it.

Calypso, that is exactly it, you don't have a schedule to MAKE you move, I had little trouble getting up at 5 for work at 630 or 630 when the kids needed my help getting on the bus for 730, but it's summer now, and getting up before 8 is hard, it also takes awhile for me to get moving most mornings.
I got water to the chickens, they were grateful I washed the dishes from last night supper and breakfast this morning.
Now I need to clean out the van from my holiday
