congrats on the s CC! sorry those staples were so... staple-y!
yay for progress little by little, MLT!
I love waking up at dawn, but I think I took my sleep aid, so I missed the morning window. I was still able to get ahead of my help, and far enough along to figure out the next steps. And it is cooling down, we are planning to work until 9:00 or 10:00 pm.

I was able to sort and trash enough to consolidate a bit. It makes a visual dent--both my help and DXH commented that I've made a lot of progress. But I know I haven't actually let go of much. Still, consolidation counts, and I have a better idea of what I have. I hadn't gone through the boxes I brought back from my great aunts since I packed them up 15? years ago. Have one more box to sift through, but now that I have a system that will be easier.
I'll be back up in a week to ten days to work on that some more.
I'm looking forward to making progress down at M's tomorrow!

great report, mylittlescholar - congratulations! i have to consolidate first before i can let things go.
NewLifeToday; WTG on all the work, the PUPAs, and good bodily and home care! gosh, that ice cream sounds delicious - my mouth was watering while reading that!
i'm sorry i have not been here much. i am so tired! the painters did some prep here and primed and postponed painting this bldg til Monday. i had all day yesterday to work on stuff to take to the exchange but i didn't. instead i did a lot of research and then i went to garden because the dam rodents - voles i think - ate half of my winter bean crop off at the ground, killing the vines! i was so upset. i came up with a plan and it took a couple hrs to do it and i hope it works but i need to go there tonight or in the morning and do more. probably tonight would be better or they may get the rest of my crop.
so that left today to work on stuff to take to the exchange. i did some consolidation at the apartment and actually cleared a little space in entry hall. i'm disappointed that i didn't go crazy and let a lot go. but i did let go of some low hanging fruit. i let go of many tiles that i used for the mosaic i did around the garbage enclosure. also a small box of clothes (and i tossed 5 pieces of clothing that i figured weren't even good enough to donate). i released two very small boxes of books, a pile of polar fleece and some household odds and ends; about 5 boxes total and the book boxes were really small. oh well! that's 5 boxes of things gone. a few of the things were harder. like the halloween wreath with all the eyeballs on it - that was hardest! the guys at the exchange loved it and hung it up at the trailer. it certainly is a conversation piece!
when i got to the exchange, the intake guys told me they added some more time slots so as soon as i got home i called the computer tech since this 'puter is acting up. he doesn't know why. i pray it's not dying!
then i immediately went online booked a slot in mid august and another in early september. so i need to make this my "job" and somewhere in the middle, either list some things for sale on facebook buy/sell/trade or have (gasp) a yard sale. the storage units are so crowded i can't even get into the unit with all the books but i will probably start there since that one is in a different hall than my other two units, and the swallows are NOT happy about my being in "their" hall - i don't know if i mentioned that there were 4 babies but only two have lived and they are growing fast. the two who died are buried in my garden and their little souls can visit there from swallow heaven.

NewLifeToday - I love that you made ice cream! I have lovely memories of making ice cream with friends I used to live with, with salt and ice and a lot of cranking. Later on, I got a small electric ice cream maker that I kept in the freezer. I loved making my own recipes.

mylittlescholar You are amazing, doing so much. Congrats to you. :) creativechaos I am sorry about the varmints. I hope you can get rid of them without too much work. Congrats to you on getting so much done. larataylor The kind of ice cream making you posted about is the best, I think. I just mix mine in a jar and put it on the shelf in the door of the freezer. The consistency isn't great, but it is not full of chemicals and I can use organic, grass-fed milk and cream. Making a real custard and then using the hand crank and salt is my favorite. It's been eons since I've done that, or eaten that kind. I'm glad you have nice memories of making real ice cream. :) ----- Morning chores started: Dish drainer emptied Some dishes done Tossed something I'd been hanging onto Filled water pitcher filter and tea kettle It's morning sitting time. :)

great start to your morning, NewLifeToday! i hope you enjoy some well-earned r & r. homemade yogurt... yum! WTG on exercising!
strange day and strange sleep last night - in bits and pieces and lots of awake time at the glowy thing... woke up to a strange repetetive dream that kept going every time i fell back asleep! have to try to figure it out now~ whatta weird dream out of left field... any dream interpreters here? PM me... i think it was somehow significant.
watered garden this a.m. and did a little deadheading of flowers. checked on the beans... so far so good with the tin foil wrapping. it got hot early so if i have the energy i'll go back to work there tonight.
having trouble getting going. fell back asleep for an hr and have been sitting here wasting the day when i had hoped to do so much more.
to do: dishes make a small batch of fresh pesto PUPA MAYBE take apart a derelict shelf unit on back balcony that i wouldn't let the painters destroy by throwing it off the balcony take out all nails if i get it apart put the plywood in car to be reused around the garden - IF i decide to take it apart - it is useful so maybe not
i'll start in the kitchen.

i just added up stuff i jotted down in my notebook about non-trash things i got rid of in June and July so far; i released 633 items thereabouts - mostly small items, but still... it's something!
i wonder how many items i acquired. i hope not that many! i did go a little crazy buying some needlepoint yarn and (gulp) some fabric. i need to sew while the machine is out on my desktop. maybe i can do that this weekend. if not, i'm putting this machine away until i make a designated sewing space where i can put it. i have the other old singer in the bedroom but it's covered with piles of sewing stuff and projects. this is my precious featherweight that i used for that sewing workshop way back in mid June - now it's a dust collector not being used. not good!! i will use it this weekend even if only for 15 minutes. or, away it goes. somewhere i have a pattern to make a cover for it while it's out.

Good Morning/Evening. :) creativechaos you are inspiring, working in so many areas at once, making progress. :). Thanks for your kind words. "Designated spaces". There's a subject! Your sewing area sounds full of love and life. Fresh pesto is one of the nicest foods, I think. :) This morning is usual morning things: Filled water filter pitcher and tea kettle Made tea Some food prep: today, yogurt again Decided to do a large shopping trip tomorrow, so am gearing up for that. And just for now, a bit of tea time for gathering thoughts and such.

I do keep stalling on one project. I too often list it on WIT's, don't do it, then abandon it. I must get to it. I want to match my and my brother's paper medical records to what I have already scanned/downloaded digitally and discard the paper. Well, I did get brother's records done, still working on mine. As usual put in WIT's, abandon that "to do" then reenter it a day or two later. At least I am getting closer to finishing. This stalling point requires minor effort but getting this task accomplished eludes me.
