Hi, CC. . Would having a helper fit into your plan? I had to ask for help on an emergency project a few weeks ago. Was difficult to have them help, but I just couldn't manage all the physical work on my own. Turned out fairly well. Congrats on the consignment store.

hi, NewLifeToday - thank you! i have thought on that and even on potentially who, but i am such a control freak about letting stuff go, it takes me so long to process each release.. and i'm so ashamed of the mess and the dirt, it'd have to be the right helper. and with covid-19 and masks and all that... it's harder to ask... would not want to unwittingly endanger anyone since i am out and about a lot.
so i posted on my blog that i made an appointment with the cat acupressurist for tomorrow at 1. i hope that gives some motivation to clean up this place a little! can't do much atm about the piles but here is my wish list: (trying to be somewhat optimistic yet realistic)
kitchen - dish maintenance, stovetop, sink, floor. the counters are hopeless but even what's listed would be a great improvement. bedroom - sweep traffic areas, piles tidied and consolidated, dust the worst areas entry hall - consolidate piles for access/egress LR - put some nice pieces of fabric over piled loveseat and chair. clear floor. sweep what i can. handwash masks and a few purses.
not gonna sweat the other stuff. she never uses the bathroom, thankfully. some of this can probably be done tomorrow.
i need to get back to going to storage and working there too! and i need to go work for my "good" client for a couple hrs. maybe tonight, depending how far i get today.

i wish i could say i was DOING my list, NewLifeToday. i self sabotabed on that pretty badly.
making a list i can do in less than an hr because that is all the time i have left: kitchen: dishes, stovetop. sweep what floor i can see entry hall: tidy piles, remove trip hazards bedroom; same. dust any embarrassing areas she will see.
sweep, if time. find money. find mask.
haha - what i DID do this morning is thoroughly clean bathroom sink and counter. which meant a bunch of stuff is now on the floor with no home. i also scooped litterbox like always, and cleaned toilet bowl. she never uses the bathroom but i feel better about it.

thank you, NewLifeToday, for your good wishes and kind words. Well, she saw the apt and nobody died! her work always helps my cat.
she told me there is mold in here somewhere and that is what is affecting the cat and making him have the pain (she does kinesiology/muscle testing) - and she says that it's because i have so much stuff that there is mold. that may be. . i don't know what to think or do about that... get a mold killing air purifier i suppose, if such a thing exists. And keep sorting and trying to release more stuff.
the rest of the cat's report was OK - he's doing pretty good for his age.
i made a late lunch and i need to research the air purifier stuff, because acupressurist is going away for 10 days tomorrow so i will do some research and email her my findings to see what she thinks.

well she saw the apt and nobody died! Congratulations on continuing your streak of # of people entering = # of people leaving alive! I'm glad your kitty is mostly OK. P.S. creativechaos, I just realized this could sound sarcastic or as if I think you had nothing to worry about. Not at all. I have this ADHD mind that makes silly associations and misses the main point. I have been that person who answers the door while peeking around it and saying telepathically that they're not welcome inside.

I hope you find the mold, that's not good for either of you. For me, I've usually lost track of a veg or fruit and it went feral.

that's a good thought, mouseanne. cat has been steadily declining aka limping for months. i have found interesting "science experiments" buried under the piles before. all incentive to do some archaeological digging. i did find an ancient squash from one or two years ago (winter squash keeps a LONG time) that had become another unrecognizable substance - got rid of that but just found some decomposing squash and cukes that i had picked and not processed. i vow to be more attentive - of course, getting rid of the piles would help a lot! chipping away at it...even with homes for what all i do have, this place would still be super crowded. a minimalist, i am not.
goldenthreads, i love and understand ADHD minds, associations, and humor - being one of "those" myself. you know, the one who is the only one laughing at a movie theater because i find something tremendously funny - like dysfunctional relationship stuff - having survived that and developed a sense of humor about it. your thoughts are always welcome here!
last night i put a raffia(?) plant stand that used to be on the back deck, out by the dumpsters. i was going to put this wicker /raffia headboard out there too. it was out on back balcony - for "privacy" feeling. but i love the balcony the way it is and just see it as clutter now. besides, i think it has gotten moldy or mildewed, being outside. that did not quite make it to the dumpster yet. for now it is downstairs behind the bench under the stairs, where it looks really nice! i should photo it and post it. not quite done with downstairs garden sitting area... getting closer though.
i need a list today. i keep "wandering" and drifting into distraction.
dishes more around sink area look up refrigerator pickle recipes. give some cukes away~ g0t 10 yesterday! call good client re work continue putting like with like with the objective to sort a little later research mold killing air purifiers or purifying agents.

CC, if the mold turns out to be in the walls and elsewhere which is hard to get out, I'd be glad to talk air purifiers with you, if that area is a bit new to you. There are different kinds of UV light for example. And ozonators, which are controversial. There are air sterilizers, and ionizers and true HEPA filters, and charcoal filters, .... Lots of variations in the categories. Some brands and types are much, much better than others. And if the mold is affecting you, I can give you oodles of info. Best wishes for a lovely evening.

thank you, NewLifeToday - i will likely be taking you up on that since i think i should get an air purifier anyway since it might help with any airborne spores. from what i read, both i and the cat can easily bring in spores from outside - and i KNOW my large unit has mold because the stench of it is obvious whenever i go there. and there are big gaps in the plywood ceiling that lead straight to the uninsulated crawl space/attic above where there was obviously water damage, as in the hallway. you can see the water staind on the sheetrock ceiling in the hall and the storage plywood ceiling. if it's ok to message you about this, that would be great. thank you for your good wishes and for offering help with this. i know nothing about air purifiers except that you need to clean them often or they can become dangerous - with mold i guess.
i got these things done:
gathered some recycle to put out in the a.m. made a nice dinner, ate, did most of the dishes, cleaned up food waste. cleaned up sink a bit paid phone bill via phone/speed pay rescheduled an appointment at the exchange 0 i had accidentally double-booked a medical appointment on the mainland. checked my bank statement to be sure of where my finances are. gave away some cucumbers, the newer ones.
to do soon: call a few mechanics about my exhaust system issues... get estimates
time to rest.

CC, message ok, or if info would help others, we could make a thread about mold, air, health, etc. Water damage in a house means mold. Every bit of remediation helps.

i just made a thread about mold and remediation since there wasn't one, NewLifeToday - and i tagged you - thank you!
well i an stuck so am going to use my backslider thread. i guess i will ask myself what sticks out that is really bothering me here in the apartmment. it's 4 pm already and i feel lost. i will add to this post with any accomplishments and if that all fails, maybe i'll kick myself out of here and go back to storage, or the garden... plenty to do there that i've been avoiding!
did a brain dump in a notebook on things bugging me that i can improve without taking all day to do it... we'll see what gets done.'

thanks for the well wishes and the computer hug, NewLifeToday. hugs back!
well yesterday i guess was a thinking and avoidance day but i got a lot of brain dumping done about what bugs me - and that is just the surface stuff. today i feel motivated to try to improve some of those things in some of those areas. i have a lot pulling on me now; garden, storage, home. the little bit of sorting/releasing i have done must be pulling up more subconscious anxiety than i realized. i had a dream that reflected the anxiety. i may write about it in my blog. now, to stay focused... maybe i can list my tiny accomplishments and time spent doing them. i'm not very good at to do or tada lists. end of day summary might work better.
