Rules for posting here:
(1) There are no rules
(2) If you need rules, make up your own.
(3) Your rules don't apply to anyone else
(4) Some verbose people write long-winded book-like accounts (with illustrations) of their whole day. Example: Script
(5) Some folks start a list and use this as an out-of-chat challenge. Example: Pooh and others on the same time wave length in the UK
(6) Some folks actually make a LIST of things to do: imagine that! Notable example: CanDo, and her patented ListZilla (as in 'very long detailed list')
(7) Many people post in THREES: as in: "I have just done X,Y,Z. I now want to do A,B,C." Little Ninja often uses this format and likes to include "ACCOUNTABILITY" in her post.
(8) No one gives a flying fig if you join an existing thread (see rule #1: there are no rules). Tag along. Feel free to encourage. Comments from the Peanut Gallery welcome!
(9) If this works for you in any way, you're doing the right thing.
(10) If this forum bothers you in any way, just remember: no one is OBLIGED to participate.
(11) ListZilla is about Action, however trivial (Script sometimes lists "put on a dress"--she is almost childlike in her simplicity...) ListZilla is not the ideal forum in which to discuss philosophy of clutter, cleaning techniques, or anything remotely like Theory.
There you have it, folks: the 11 commandments of ListZilla.
Luv from Script (this forum helps me more than you will ever know!)
Woohoo, I get to start WIT today! Did I post the rules right? Hope so.
TaDas:
-Logged on to Squalour Survivors for the first time in months; successfully chased its denizens down to this new site. Thanks, people, for keeping it going! Or Stepping, as the case may be. -Did Laundry. -Started new ToDo list of my own, covering short and long-term goals, trying out a new format ... more on that elsewhere, since it is Theory, not Practice (yet). -Bought new Yellow Rubber Gloves for attacking the Kitchen. (These items begin with capital letters b/c I have a personal Mythology of the Yellow Rubber Gloves and all of their traditional Enemies ... )
ToDos: -Go to bed now. -Get up after no more than 9 hours of sleep. -Call J and drop off his CD ... -Attack the Kitchen with the Yellow Rubber Gloves, limiting time spent thereon so as to fend off frustration. -Bring down some recycling to the basement. -Listen to some CDs (either Boheme for the role I am learning in it, or some musical theatre, b/c I need to get better acquainted with American musical theatre for professional reasons ... but who says work can't be fun?) -Check back here and offer kudos to others ... can't do that now, b/c I just started the thread! Maybe I'll go back and look at yesterday's WITs.
Happy stepping, all!

And recognizing the ends of yesterday's WITs before I go to bed ...
Big hugs to Artsy! I hope your friend is doing well after being thrown.
To CanDo and WestSide, I'm going to try to channel your kitchen effectiveness. I don't have skillets to clean, but the fridge thing ... um, yes.
Happy Thursday!

Hi everyone! I'm just hopping in here really quick before I go collapse on the couch. Artsygal, I'm thinking of your mom and your friend. Your story from the thread you started the other day has inspired me, and as soon as I'm feeling better, I'm going to start taking back my basement. Have a safe trip. Everyone is of to a great start today. I either have food poisoning, or something very like it. I don't get rotaviruses very easily, so I suspect it's something I ate. We went out to the Chinese buffet yesterday, and no one else in the family is ill, but no one else had crab rangoon. Ugh...not a fun night/morning. I have Tada's form yesterday, when I wasn't at my computer: *Sewing table finally decluttered and moved to new sewing corner. *moved both the serger and the sewing machine off the dining room table. *the old clothes rack from the dining room is GONE! And smaller Tadas from this morning: *got up and fed the kids *cleaned baby's high chair tray so it's ready for lunchtime. *put away a couple of the bigger toys in the living room. To do's *get over this bug *read to baby a lot, since I con't feel like chasing him around, tickling him and playing much at the moment. It's a quiet day. *get my oldest boy to unload and reload the dishwasher. Off to the couch now--- happy desqualoring, everybody! I'll try to join in again as I recover later. My living room is back down to level one, and with the finish line in sight on that room, it's frustrating not to work on it some more.

Mothra-- Thanks for noticing my late posts of yesterday. Unfortunately, I do have to be honest... my kitchen is a huge mess! I just try to keep up with the dishes, cooking stuff, & left-overs. I've tried to make it a daily "habit", but just doesn't work that way for me. I have to force myself to do it & often I have to break it down into baby steps. It is so nice to wake up in the morning without having a stench radiating throughout the house from the kitchen. So, I try to deal with those left-overs, dirty dishes & empty the trash before I go to sleep. Still there are times, though that I get a couple days behind... And, the top of stove...I've been trying to keep up with the drips/splatters etc. But, I have 1 burner that doesn't work & I only do a very surface clean. I really need to scrub it and get under the burners & the oven, etc. It is awful!!! The laundry I am trying to stay on top of by doing at least 2 loads start-to-finish per day. Life is much more smooth when I can do this... I have licked the clean laundry lying all over my den on top of furniture habit & the digging thru several baskets of clothes that used to be in den, hallway & office. I just really need to make myself do the 2 per day to stay somewhat on top of it. I also have to break this down into baby steps. But, our drawers & closets are filled to overflowing & haven't licked the stacks of clothes on top of bedroom furniture yet... I am trying to cook more often...at least 5 times per week...so always many dishes & cookware to wash. I am Level 2+++ in most rooms of my house. Only Level 1 is front bathroom & back bathroom & hallway. Now, y'all have heard & know more than you ever wanted to know about me... Tadas: 1)made my bed 2)dressed2shoes--including contacts, teeth, hair, chapstick 3)took kids to schools More tadas: 1)took puppy 2)walked with DAngelDog 2 miles -- 3 times around a lake/pond. (made myself jog/run a teeny, tiny...really... bit. 3)drank 2 glasses of water Todos: 1)eat late breakfast 2)shower 3)put new checks away CD

{{{laughinglark}}} --- sending healing thoughts to you. ArtsyGal, glad your friend's not going to be in ICU for much longer; good wishes to her and your Mom. Hopefulnic, sidetracked is my middle name more often than you can imagine. You're doing well, with the e-mail and yummy bland comfort food for your DS as early TADAs. Creativechaos, WTG on all the work from yesterday and today's action plan. Madtiger, glad you are taking a little time for yourself with your morning routines before you go off to be grandmother to your new little granddaughter -- oops! -- cubette and the big brother cub. Here's hoping the spare room has no unpleasant surprises! And Mothra, welcome to WITs. Thanks so much for starting this thread. My neighbor, a soprano, named her cats Marcello and Musetta (hope I am spelling their names right!) Are you learning Musetta or Mimi? Good luck with those lovely Yellow Rubber Gloves! ETA: CanDo, you beat me to the send button! Like you, my place is not as neat as you might expect from the frequent posts. . But you do impress me with your CanDoIt-ness and your keeping on top of things that keep you and your house from descending into total chaos. TADAs: 1. Up/meds/breakfast 2. Tossed some peaches I just bought which were attracting fruit flies already. 3. Reshelved some cookbooks I had left out last night TODOs: 1. Strip and make bed 2. Laundry 3. Find 5 things to donate. Hope you all have good days! WestsideStory

REally nervous that this is going to turn into a major problem. 2)put load of laundry in washer 3)put checks away *bonus*emptied kitchen trash, sprayed can & replaced bag--forgot to do that last night. Hey, CanDo -- you're doing great today. (If you actually knew me, you'd see that the pedestal you had me on is rather dusty, and that there are cobwebs on parts of my marble likeness. I would not be able to tolerate the pigeon poop, so that would be cleaned on a fairly regular basis, but would be less likely to pounce on the occasional leaf getting stuck in a fold of a garment or the gum wrapper being blown up against the base and staying there. Progress, not perfection, eh?)
Hypatia, thanks for checking in with us even though you weren't totally in the SS mind space today. Logging on and checking in are TAADAs!
TADAs: 1. Dishes etc. in dishwasher 2. Bed stripped 3. Things put in give-away pile.
TODOs: 1. Laundry 2. Vaccuum 3. Return phone call.
Hope you're all doing well.
