cyn and i have been talking about bins. You know the ones -- crammed full of who knows what. Maybe the result of a stash and dash or unpacked from a recent (or not so recent) move. What ever the reason the bins got there doesnt matter. Lets work on making those bins has-beens and get them out of here. As always no real rules, just play nice and keep it fun! My first goal is dealing with the umm, well, i was going to start in the living room and the "few" in the bathroom. I just went and counted the bathroom ones. Eleven. I guess im starting with the "few" in the bathroom. Guess you can tell im not good at math. ETA: any "B"s count - boxes, bags, baggage, bundles, bric a brac. Be creative and make it fit (the category, not the hoard).

Unswamping Bin-Tastic thread idea! Thank you! I've got bins coming out my butt! Seriously, there's so many bins on the porch atm that I had to guesstimate how many there are, because it's just too cram-packed to see clearly: I *think* there's 24 out there. Yowza! I'm going to work on the outer stack first. There's 5 empty bins stacked on top of a full one. I'm not sure what's in there...could be anything (except a cow costume ) we'll find out tomorrow morning, when I do the big reveal!

Unswamping...I love when you and cyn put your heads together and come up with these great threads! I do have bins in the basement that are packed with various items from my childhood home and memorabilia that my Mom kept. About a dozen large bins. I'm not promising I'm going to get to them but I do thank you for the reminder!
You can do it Sisters! Way to go!

i have 28 EMPTY bins stored in the Garage..... We are not discussing the ones that are still in my bedroom. I emptied TWENTY EIGHT BINS!!!
(and there are at least 15 still full inside and about 20 more in the tool room -- do we HAVE to think about THOSE???)

Bins, bins, everywhere! I have, I think, six under-bed bins, another one full of miscellaneous items that don't have a home, then 8-10 drawer bins and a first-aid bin in my hall closet. All of them desperately need to be gone through, as I am piling things on top of them because they are so full. Today I have to clean, because my sister is coming over tomorrow, but maybe after that I can get busy on those.
Thanks for starting this thread. This may give me the push I need. I have been contemplating the bins for some time, but having others working on theirs may get me going on them. At least I've already gone through the Christmas bins in my bedroom closet and gotten rid of a lot.

Binzaster Zone is 2 bins smaller today! I've pulled apart the wall of bins (can't access the center yet, ugh) and restacked the clothing bins. That'll get sorted later, after the junk bins. I can't believe the crap I've stuffed into them - so it's going fairly fast, because I'm sick of it all. Sick of seeing the stacks, sick of worrying about getting rid of it, sick of dealing with it - just fed up with the whole thing. I had a thought that maybe this is the reason I've got so much stuff: I've kept it binned up - out of sight, out of mind. I'm almost positive that if I was seeing it every day, I'd have chucked alot of it by now. At least, that's how I'm feeling today. Maybe not - maybe this is the changing attitude that's taken me 18 months to learn. Whatever it is, I'm glad to have it!

I emptied a small bin, most went into the trash. They were birthday cards TO my grandmother. Plus a few other things in there like fancy scissors that cut pretty edges.
Keeping the scissors, pencil sharpener, and one or two of the cards. The rest went into the trash.

I love this thread! My first thought was--hmm, I only have a few bins left. Of course, that's ignoring the MANY, MANY bins and boxes of books, because only a few of those are "undecided". Most are keepers or sale books. So, I should say, I have only a few bins left of miscellaneous stuff. I'm going to try my best to empty one of them on this thread. That is, if the thread hangs around long enough for procrastinating me to actually do it! Congratulations to Cyn and Vyaspigeon on the bin-emptying so far! Diane

Di 28 empty bins! That is so awesome and so inspiring! Im so happy for you. One bin at a time and the rest will empty too! cyn binzaster zone! I love it! Great work on getting two bins emptied. Im thinking the same thing, if this stuff wasnt boxed/binned, it would probably been long gone. Im getting tired of looking at this stuff too. seashell cheering you on. One bin at a time, we can do this. 1rarebeautifuldove great job on emptying a bin today, tossing most and keeping the real treasures. dtesposito hopefully we can keep this thread going long enough for you. Procrastination is my downfall too. I keep saying i will deal with them later and i never do. Hopefully we can start making progress.

i think we should keep this thread going forever. bins. (of all sizes) - i have walls of them here and in storage units (2). add to that boxes, bags, bundles, oh yeah. i'll be a lifer here. cyn, WTG for barreling right through those bins. i think you are right. things hidden in bags, boxes, and bins, are out of sight out of mind. you too 1rarebeautifuldove - small bins count! i have tiny to big and i'm counting them all. same goes for bags, boxes, bundles, and bunches. Di - 28 EMPTY bins - fantastic! i have two boxes of donations started from the storage unit run yesterday. now that i am not working due to the injury i am thinking crazy again - "i need money so i should have a yard sale." NO. i need to donate this crap and pay only for what i will use and if i am serious to have a storage unit for a studio, USE it for its intended purpose. i'm in! i will report something soon.

creativechaos I could keep this thread going forever - once I get past the bins, there's the closets full of bag & boxes. It's Brain Boggling, how many I have! Congrats on getting some donations out of your storage unit! 1rarebeautifuldove Congrats on your empty bin, too! I'm adding boxes - 3 boxes of books. I'm going to go through them tonight, and keep the ones that fit on the shelves in here. I know, I could always move them back onto the bookcase I took them from...but...gasp, I want space here.

It is nice to have another place to post victories! I was wondering, do boxes from a stash and dash count?? They aren't actual "bins" per say, but they are boxes of mix match stuff. I have about 3 - 4 left of these that my mom did (with all my stuff) while I was in Russia. Then there are the boxes that a friend put together when she was helping me clean my house. I still don't have them all cleared out, ok it's more than 2 and less than 600 of them.
