Help. I have been trying to logon and it repeatedly tells me that the password is incorrect.. I sent an email to request the pw, in case had somehow inadvertently changed it. Nope... of course it's still the original pw.
When I logon, it just keeps on saying Welcome Guest. What can I do? Or are others having problems this afternoon too? MellowYellow

I've just tried logging out and logging in again. It worked for me, but one thing I noticed was that I get the same error message if I botch the name as I do when I botch the password.
What works for me at times is to do a copy and paste from the reminder messages. No chance of adding or deleting characters at that point.
Fingers crossed that you can log in again.

Hi, I have been having the same problems since installing the automatic updates from micro-soft (soft as in the head ) takes very long at times and often i get in as "guest" even though i know my password was typed in correctly. Then jumping from general to byways won't work...am happy i got this far this time...anyway.... a bit frustrating this, but maybe it is just one of those "control" things re internet nowadays, if you follow my warped thinking....

I'm back again... I haven't been able to logon. I tried it with capitals, no capitals, etc... The pw I use is constant, and the same one that is confirmed through the email. Originally I thought someone had hacked my account, but the pw is still the same. Not sure what's up. It's the first time I've had any problems at all. I'm hoping it is working tomorrow. If admin has access to my info, maybe they can check it out?

MellowYellow, I can see enough to see that someone is registered as mellowyellow, but I can't see the password to test it or change it.
The only other thought I have is that it might be a cookie issue on your computer, and that if you clear cookies, you might be able to log in.

Help help help. I still can't logon. I have just registered using a new name Mellow, and it still seems like I am not logged onto the board. BUT!... I looked at the bottom of the page and it shows me as LOGGED ON as Mellow Yellow.... and also Logged on in my new name Mellow. So the system is obviously accepting my pw as correct, and showing me as present... but just not giving me access as a Member or letting me post or go to byways... Help Admin experts. I don't know what to do. P.S. I cleaned out the cache and it's not a cookie issue. And it can't be a firewall thing, since I've had not problems up until now.

I just found this thread. I'm having the exact same problem as Mellowyellow. Just wondering if it ever got fixed and if so how. Thanks.

When you login, can you try logging in under the "forever" option? (You can still log out whenever you want.)

Having seen this post, I decided to try to duplicate the problem using my husband's computer, which uses Window's Vista and IE7 using my sock puppet account. (Not as an admin, but as a non-admin user.)
I was not able to duplicate the problem in IE7 on Windows Vista on his computer.
I am searching the proboards support board to see if there are any answers. Celeste may have already done this, but I'll keep looking.
BTW, mellowyellow's problem was fixed. She posts regularly and hasn't mentioned the issue in almost a year.
The only thing I have found in the proboards support forum, Celeste already suggested. Choose the 'forever' option when logging in. It is apparently a problem that was identified for IE7 users. But I was not able to duplicate that same problem when using my sock puppet account, and I chose 6 hours. But I would still give that a try. My experience may have been an anomaly.

Hi it's 3G. I am also not able to log in after cleaning cookies. It happens every time! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! It says SN and password is incorrect and will not send me an email. 3G Unfortunately, cleaning out cookies does get rid of the code snippet used to keep track of that, so it WILL happen every time. Are you signing in under "threeg" like CL_SS suggested? Are you selecting "Forever" from the dropdown box next to "Stay logged in for:"? (There is an Internet Explorer glitch on ProBoards that causes login problems if "Forever" is NOT selected. You can logout whenever you want, regardless what you tell it.) Let us know how it goes!
